While I like the idea of playing co-op with a friend, I can't think of anyway that it could work well. And don't think I want them to put time into that. Much rather they fine tune what they have. And focus more on the single player aspect. MP in games is rarely anything good enough for me to play more than a few times. Usually takes a developer several games to get something good worked out online. Id like to see some expansion on the settlement building from FO. Id love to set up look out towers and forts. Assembling an army that you use in the campaign story. Make it so that building strong settlements expands the size and strength of the army. Setting up the army line up by putting certain races/classes on the front lines or has medics etc. Limitless possibilities! So much more but that was first thing I thought of

  • Imagine coop where your friend takes the role of a whiterun guard or something similar. Their damage is set, their health is set, and they cant level up and assign perks. All you can do is offer your friend better weapons, armor, and gear like health potions and magic scrolls. Perhaps a fraction of the EXP earned in coop is added to your character on your own save/world. Its incredibly simple, yet it would be a decent coop experience. Not much could be lossed from the world since its so simple, and players who want it get coop. Its a win-win. On the other hand, perhaps the friend joins in with their own character and gear, but their damage and health is tuned to match the host player to avoid being OP and carrying the host. Both players get the satisfaction of using their own character, both get full EXP gains, both characters can make story progress, and side-quests done in coop actually carry over on the companions world. That would be the complex coop to worry about. If they could make that work while providing a satisfactory ES game, id vote GOTY.
