It seems like bungie went behind our backs with glimmer too with the 2.0 update. No longer do you get 25 glimmer when you kill majors. There is also a hidden cap to the ammount of glimmer you can earn in a certain time period while wearing a ghost or using a consumable. I believe this is bungies way of artificially extending play time by slowing down progress and if this is true, a very deplorable tactic by bungie.
Edit: I know how to farm for glimmer with shards and such. This post is mostly about how Bungie is secretly changing things and slowing down progress to keeps us grinding. That's just pathetic, makes us want to grind with enjoyable content.
Edit: Another issue is why have consumables that give glimmer when killing enemies if you can't get glimmer for the entire time it's active. You stop gaining glimmer if you've reach the invisible cap even if there is time left on your consumable. That's a little silly I think.
Edit: I'd like to reiterate that this post is not about having insufficient glimmer. This post is about how Bungie goes behind our backs and secretly changes game mechanics. I get that most of you don't have a glimmer shortage and some do. Everyone plays this game differently. The real issue is Bungie's dishonesty.

2 RepliesBecause if they talk about it then it isn't secret. Obviously.

14 RepliesIt's funny that you mentioned something being changed, without anyone knowing. Cause since the last update (not glimmer related) my sparrow is as fast a snail. I have a few new ones, and the raid ones, and I can sprint faster then they go. Just feels so much slower recently. Maybe it's just me?
-
Bungie isn't dishonest. In this case. They just never denied it.
-
How is it an issue? There has never been a shortage of glimmer. I haven't been able to turn in items for glimmer for a while without buying stuff I don't actually need.
-
Probably because it wasn't secret...

Edited by GenXer: 1/26/2016 8:02:56 PMI never notice because my glimmer's always full. I know the bent of your post is Bungie doing things in the background, but sometimes, it just doesn't matter, even if true.
-
Really? Because I regularly blow through 15k, 10 in reserve, just on weapon parts to raise my dead orbit rank. I never even use consumables. Maybe you get more in strikes...? I do a lot of strikes.
-
4 RepliesI have always been a subject to low glimmer counts but after the taking king it got worse. I barely have enough for my weekly trials passage.
-
Just go and do a bunch of strikes. The glimmer reduction isn't so bad when you discard the garbage decrypts and stashing any extra glimmer artifacts for the Cryptarch. Like just hit the cap and stash them until you need them. I have like 10k glimmer worth of crap stashed in the vault. Prison of Elders would be perfect but you apparently can't stack the damn Amethysts.
-
It's sooooo annoying.
-
Lolololololololololololno I hit the wallet cap almost constantly, empty it, and refill it rather quickly. You just don't know how to farm glimmer.
-
2 RepliesI find it much much quicker and easier to earn glimmer than in vanilla.
-
Yeah, I was wondering why I can't hit the glimmer cap anymore
-
I actually find it quicker, I max glimmer least 3 times a week. I buy stuff for faction rep :)
-
I've noticed no such changes. While "exotic farming", I'm still maxing out glimmer after an hour, hour and a half, without using ether seeds and the like. Still going back to the tower when glimmer cap gets close, so I can purchase a bunch of weapon parts to be used for rep later. Then rinse and repeat. It is not taking any more time to get glimmer than it ever did, and that isn't even the principal goal in this case.
-
I noticed this the other day. It's infuriating. Bungie gets away with this shit way too much. Probably working on adding microtransactions to buy glimmer. What better way to make that sell than cutting glimmer drop rates dramatically!
-
It may be a glitch, I noticed it but honestly this is the first post I've seen about it in the forums.
-
Because i have always 25k glimmer
-
Because nobody gives a shit about glimmer.
-
Because no one cares about glimmer

Well now 389 people are

hahahahahaha another reason to quit this game, bungie and their shitty ideas on how to maximized their small ass content. do you guys really expect any thing more from a company with such small ass minds as to constantly reuse and diminish the small ass content they already have. I mean how many iron banners does PVP need, why cant PVE get any monthy crap to do and this Cosmetic Holiday Events that bungie runs, they don't really cost that much to do but I quess they are running out of money to pay for their corner jockey hookers and and monthey overdoses. that's what you really are buying silver for, deej needs to resupply his lube for Luke Smiths hourly visits.

6 RepliesGame is NOT rewarding kills with glimmer unless you have an active consumable and then the game only gives you glimmer for those kills associated with that consumable. Unassociated kills do not register kill glimmer on the screen nor does it add any glimmer to your total.
-
I can't get rid of the shit. I know I've deleted hundreds of house banners, silken codexes, etc.
-
I have a 120k at the tower.been saving for a while now.

Who cares it's so easy to get
