I figured out how to loosely manipulate RNG while decrypting. Finally started inching towards 310 without ever beating Oryx. 306 is my current max.

What's the secret.. More grind? I'm forever doing heroic strikes but I'm loosing patience, just the same stuff over and over! Good luck in reaching 310 ( not sarcasm by the way )

Edited by OGNoshkanok: 1/25/2016 11:03:20 PMWhen decrypting, the atk/def numbers spike, then reset, right? I.E. 266 266 275 293 Then reset to low numbers again. Its usually the 3rd, 4th or 5th engram that hits the spike. Usually. Once over 300 light, exotic engrams [i]may[/i] decrypt at 310, so if you decrypt them at that spike, you'll likely get a 310 out of it. Try decrypting 5 exotics in a row, checking each one, and see what happens. Test it on many blues to see the pattern. Ideally I do 2-3 blues, then 1-2 exotics until I hit a 310. Then do 2-3 blues etc. Remember I said [b]loosely[/b] manipulate :) I dump all 310s into one character, once he's 310 all exotics will be 310 (or so I read). Those will then be dumped into other characters.

Edited by OGNoshkanok: 1/25/2016 11:12:45 PMYeah. I grind out lvl 36 strikes, or pick your favorite and do it repeatedly, for exotic engrams. I hoard them until I have several of one type. Xur also started selling Y2 engrams so that helps too. I bought 5 chest engrams and got 3 290s (including a Twilight Garrison) and 2 310s. It went like this: 290 290 310 290 310 That was consecutive. I did not try to manipulate the RNG that time.
