I really don't like the new Taken King light system. It locks me out of using half of my exotics because I have to infuse them to make them do damage in PVE. For example, I just got Black Spindle, but right now I have a 1000 YARD Stare as my sniper that is much higher in light. I HATE how exotics drop at 290, which means I have to grind even more to find a weapon to infuse it with, and EVEN MORE to get the exotic shards necessary to make it worth using. Now that there's SUCH a demand for exotics shards, Bungie thought that it would be a good idea to STOP XUR FROM SELLING THEM!! Now I have to waste a bunch of coins on an engram, all just to TRY OUT an exotic. Think about it, what are the chances that you'd receive a gun you didn't want in the exact slot that you need it for, and it just HAPPENS to be high enough light to infuse it with the gun you want to upgrade.
I WANT to use my Black Spindle without having to sacrifice DAYS in order to get it up to my max level. Same with my Telesto. I bought my Telesto from Xur about a month ago, but I haven't been able to use it in end game PVE because it DROPS AT 290 LIGHT!! I'm not willing to put in HOURS of time just so I can try out a certain gun just to see how it is. It was great in year one, when EVERYTHING endgame dropped at 300 light, and you actually had a weapon class system that was properly defined. I didn't have to go through this "infusion" BS, I could simply USE the weapon to upgrade it to max level, instead of relying on RNG.
Doesn't this seem ridiculous? Shouldn't we just be able to get a gun and try it out in the raid, instead of being worried and Forced into a loadout just because it gives us the highest light? At this point, the weapon class system literally means NOTHING! I have rares that have dozens more light than my exotics, which makes it even more annoying. For instance, I was forced into using a crappy high rate of fire, low impact sniper just because it had the highest "LIGHT!!"
Destiny is a game that should cater to all play styles, but unfortunately, this is impossible when players are being forced into using layouts they are uncomfortable with. So PLEASE, rework the infusion system, and make the rarities MEAN SOMETHING! Also, unless is is completely necessary, DON'T overhall the economy again like you did in TTK. (It was necessary then, I agree, but it made all our old weapons trash).
PS: While I'm at it, the symbiote is complete trash, and needs to be un-nerfed, rift in iron banner is not a good idea, and emote cash grab events like Festival of the Lost are not acceptable. There's also a bug at the warpriest where sometimes the wrong pillar disappears.
Sorry for the rant (honestly I love your game),

1 ReplyBack when weekly strikes were actually good, I had 700 coins and bought 800 heavy synth and 50 shards. 3 months later, I have 600 synth and 49 shards and I use them constantly.

1 ReplyBump I agree. The light level system in TTK is beyond broken. Light levels on weapons was the worst idea ever.
