After hours of resetting routers, modems, Xbox ones, deleting and re-installing Destiny, resetting the Xbox one to factory settings and double checking that my privacy settings are still on "adult default", I still cannot join any of my friends due to Destiny telling me that my fire team is set to closed....How do I change/fix this??????? (None of the help on YouTube or Google is worth anything bc it only shows the old Xbox one dashboard style and I can't find those options)

So I was having the same issue. Might try checking the Internet connection. My nat was set on strict. Disconnected and reconnected: fixed.

4 RepliesPress start. L1 or LB all the way to your roster tab in the start menu. You should see a little icon I the upper left hand side of the screen that say something like "set fireteam" you can click it and change it to open or friends only.

I have this issue sometimes. Not sure why but I think it's a hiccup with xbox live. Whenever that happens I go to my friends list on xbox or snap the party app and join from there. Usually works unless xbox live is completely down. But that's not a destiny issue then.
