I am curious as to how strong is Oryx with all his powers, abilities and feats, compared to other people like for example, is Oryx's level of power the the same as Raditz from DBZ?
He is capable of using his Oversoul Dreadnaught do destroy an entire fleet and a portion of Saturn's rings, he can project a dark astral form which can fight and control Taken from such long distance. He is basically immortal in his Ascendent Realm. Wields a powerful sword, can destroy an entire team raid in one fell swoop. He can fire powerful darkness blasts, drain targets of their energy then cause instant kill, he can even cause fire damage in a certain area. He can drain enemies in the Darkness Dimension where they are trapped in a area of dark mist where he can emerge and attack, finally he can become a giant monster which he can squash enemies with his fists.

1 ReplyEdited by KingdeKobra: 11/23/2018 4:25:51 AMTime to necro a post! In the lore throne worlds have been stated to be universes. This means at bare minimum Oryx is universal+, son made throne world and Oryx is way stronger than Crota. That’s not all to Oryx, in the Book of Sorrows the Vex invade Oryx’s throne world and bamboozle Crota and his sisters. Oryx then easily claps all Vex except Quira who he captures. The Vex who invaded the throne world were apparently combat Vex which are presumably above the worker Vex we normally fight. Vex are also bamboozled by a PROJECTION of Oryx in VoG, the place where reality becomes Legos to them and where all timelines converge. With all that said my boi Oryx is at minimum Multiversal and with some more wank higher. Edit: also even with all the hinderances and amp we got we still weren’t strong enough to kill him by sheer force. we had to corrupt his own power to kill him.

6 RepliesOryx is extremely powerful, though his in-game fights don't show it. In fact, that it itself is also explainable. Oryx has been killed before during the Hive war with the Ecumene. Repeatedly actually, and with "normal" (not light enhanced I presume)highly advanced technology (war angels I believe they were called) no less. So how did a Guardian manage to kill him in one on one combat with just a couple of guns, maybe a sword? Light. Now Oryx has clearly drained light before, fought the light. But your light is what causes him damage. You'd never kill him by yourself if you didn't have it. That isn't all. The Dreadnought is actually partially integrated into High War, Oryx's Ascendant Realm. Ascendant Realm follows Sword Logic, which simply put if you kill something you grow stronger. If you kill something powerful, how powerful must you be to have killed it and so you are strong. Now you've killed Crota and countless ancient, Ascendant Hive in his Ascendant Realm and as such are significantly more powerful due to Sword Logic especially because you killed a Hive god. So when you fought Oryx in his throne some of that power was accessed. When you entered the full High War, you completely had the strength of Sword Logic in addition to whatever you gained from killing the enemies there who are undoubtedly ancient and extremely powerful Hive. Now Oryx's shadows are weak in truth. They only have access to his physical power where you fight them except in the final return to Phobos (a place of power, but if it meant an interaction with Sword Logic I don't know) and sort of in the Dreadnought. Both are maybes. But again, you still had light behind your weapons. So he seems weak to you. But as you saw the Taken absolutely crushed the Cabal. Considering how Cabal are the most effective fighting force in the system and can actually enforce their Exclusion Zone to Guardians (not including you, at this point you might as well have been Legendary to Legendary Guardians and you have technically become a God, then a God-King) , who are absolutely not normal soldiers at all, says a lot. To put this into perspective of how OP your Guardian is, you killed Crota in his realm. Who, in his physical form and not even his true form, killed countless Guardians. Oryx's physical form and even his shadows could probably laugh off anything you could throw at them if you weren't a Guardian, or more specifically, weren't you. Or technology on a particularly advanced scale. Oryx actions as an individual and as a leader resulted in the complete and utter destruction of an entire collection of technologically advanced species, so thoroughly that no one remembered them except for the Hive and Taox, who the Hive were looking for and the reason they destroyed the Ecumene because they were defending them. Did I answer your question while also explaining why it even makes sense it game?

1 ReplyEdited by mikeyrox1234: 1/21/2016 6:26:52 PMHe might be strong but he is not smart. He could have just body slammed his throne room and killed us and our ghost but nope. He didnt think of that
-
He cant be that op. Only takes two shots of sleeper to stagger his fat ass and you have to team shot the sleeper on Walrus Talldick to stager him.
-
Oryx is a chump! Fool doesn't stand a change against the first skeleton on souls. Petition to BUFF Oryx.
-
He is as strong as ManPigBear !

8 RepliesGanondorf, Bowser, Sephiroth, and any other end game bosses could kick oryx's ass. Of course, so could Tingle from zelda, Luigi from Super Mario Bros, and any other retarded support character.

Weak af

He bout medium stronk me thinks.

1 ReplyWell, we didn't "Technically" kill him. His worm is in the ToM, and that was only his throne world. Truly killing him is dismantle Touch.
-
He's over 9000!!!!!
-
Seems like you already know He's easy
-
1 ReplyHe's not that strong he gets owned by bombs that little ogers make when we destroy them.
-
3 RepliesThe dreadnaught is not an over soul
-
He's strong, just look at the size of him. Strangely effete though, flouncing about banging his fist. And really, really stupid. Just tell the ogres to bugger off somewhere else. And keep your door closed.
-
1 ReplyThe hole in Saturn's rings is planet sized, so he's probably in between sayain saga goku and vegeta in terms of power (over 9000!)
-
7 RepliesDarkness>wyrms=oryx is the idea ive gotten from the grimoire. The reason we beat oryx is because hes technically starving to death after we kicked 10 shades of shit out of the hive top brass which were paying him tribute
-
He has the power to lag players to death, so I'd say he's pretty much invincible.

1 ReplyHe's weak

Whatever you can bench, he can bench 100 lbs more... with his penis.
Yes. He has a penis.
-
2 RepliesHe's extremely powerful. The most powerful and the champion of the darkness.
-
1 ReplyFar too powerful to seriously be defeated in a raid by 6(or 1) Guardian, story-wise
