They all have their good and less used abilities. Go to ps store for free starter plat. Recommend you save it until a month after so you know how to use it wisely. Bronze mods can be as good as gold mods. Redirection is definately a mod to upgrade immediately. If you want to rush you could prob buy a r10 mod immediately with your plat. People only use plat in trading and rarely trade an item for an item unless both items are rare.

Excalibur is the best new player frame. Get the Mk1 Braton and Mk1 Lato, and the Skana. After the tutorial, try to buy new weapons with credits (Braton, Lex) so that you can do more damage.

Oh and definitely use the platinum it gives you on either weapons or more frame slots. Trust me you want those more than anything else the game is selling.
