I'll give a few tips to help you with immersion! Don't look anything up! Well ok figure out main game functions if it's your first fallout game, but that's it! Go at it organically. Don't think too much, it's easy to get overwhelmed. I look at it like I was ligit in that situation, and act accordingly. If it's the middle of the night, and say I just fought off a shit ton of ghouls, and come up on a cave shortly after? Fuk naw I'm going home, I'll come back after a nap haha. Create a home! Rename guns! Stick with a specific companion! Make real emotional connection with things, easy to do in this game!

Explore. Don't rush through the main story. Just explore, discover areas, level up, complete side quests etc. Also play the game "blind" don't go and look up a bunch of stuff on YouTube, it's so much more rewarding figuring the game out on your own.

Once you complete it go and get new vegas, some of the features from that should have come to fallout4. Hopefully some of the mods that eventually come to console will bring in some of these features as pc mods have already allowed for some aspects. I mainly want to see the following Ammo crafting Weapon degradation and repairing Karma system Proper survival mode requiring eating and sleeping More attacks on settlements

Go to diamond city as soon as possible and do a lot of the story first. Don't do what I and many others did and do a whole lot before you start doing story. The main reason I say this is as the story goes on, more things unlock in the world and you'll see more things. Also be prepared to struggle with your morality in this game. It does a great job of making you question yourself and making hard choices. Also don't be afraid to explore. This game rewards the crap out of you when you see something and go "ooh what's that lets go check it out!" Usually you'll find something good. That's why it's also better to not fast travel. That kinda takes away from the whole experience in my opinion.

Get your intell as low as possible and pick up the idiot savant perk it will make leveling up a lot quicker. Also go for a stealth build. U can do insane amounts of dmg from being hidden

One piece of advice, the only advice that matters: Do not rush through the game. Take your time, and avoid any and all exploits that anyone suggests.
-
Go for max luck in the beginning, pick up all the junk you see and store it in sanctuary's workshop, get to diamond city as fast as you can.
-
Run a sneak/melee build, get blitz early, and max charisma to talk your way out of fights

Edited by DjNormal: 1/17/2016 9:39:26 AMDefinitely decide how you want to build your character ahead of time. The new skill system is highly dependent on the attributes. Which includes bonus damage for weapons. Otherwise, have fun. Follow your instincts and don't let the tropes get you down.

Don't rush to finish the main quests.

Look at the skill tree before choosing your starting stats. Bonuses from perks are much more important than raw stats so only start with enough stat points to access the perks you want early on.
