Remember everybody use to love the LDR5001, but why our we all hating on the 1000yrd stare?
the LDR was a fantastic sniper, it was sure good for pve and pvp. But why is everybody hating on 1kyrd stare?
Yes i understand of high aim assist but thats becuz ppl double it with hidden hand,
so if ppl hated the 1k yrd stare so much in pvp, was there any reason ppl hated the LDR in pvp?

Never used LDR. Always with with my Longbow. Just as annoying though lol

1 ReplyLDR was a happy middle for high impact snipers in TDB and HOW. Wolves sniper was stat wise good but plain. Black Hammer was smashy great but also plain. Other snipes had 4-6 shots but were low impact, with great rolls possible. Each archetype had a place in PvE. Now... All low-impact snipes are crap with 4 rounds fixed and no possible way to boost damage like final round. High impacts are few... And 1kys only commonly available middle. Add on top the trials overshield... Nope. A Nash equilibrium exists for 1kys. No reason to use anything else.

Overused. Which is not "our" fault, but for non-Hunters in Trials, it is either 1000K or Eirene RR4. Black Spindle if you want to give up an exotic slot.

I think I hate it because I never ever ever ever get killed by any other sniper. I just hate getting killed by the same gun every game, makes it get stale

I loved LDR cause you could over penetrate walls, now not so much :(

I remember using the vendor and a void ldr during nexus and prime. Sitting behind the walls and sniping them without taking damage. Switching over to icebreaker then back until you could take special again. Friend would be cowering taking pot shots. Don't hate. Embrace

17 RepliesI didn't mind LDR 'cause I could nock its sites off me if I got the first shot off with my scout. With 1000yrd stare I can't, they either spam body shots or still dome me. Thats why I hate that sniper.

1 ReplyBecause there were like a dozen high impact snipers available that were good in PvP. Now there is only like 3 or 4 high impact snipers, and 1KYS is the best one. Nothing wrong with the sniper, something is wrong with the lack of variety.

Players have had lots of time to get better at using snipers so more use them. Most of the kids think they are better in crucible than they really are. When they get out gunned its because the weapon is over powered.

6 RepliesSnipers weren't in the meta back then, they started to shine in HouseOfWolves due to Trials, around that time Effederits Spear and Shadow of Veils were solid contenders that everyone could get. Everyone got a 1000yard state from a quest, so it's easy to see why there are so many. The error is so many people look at the weapon that kills them and not the person using it, you see you got domed 8 or more times in a match and think that guy and that gun are op, but it was two or more players using the gun. Not necessarily good players but each hard scoping at the right time and the right place.

Back when ldr was popular, there was A LOT more shotgunners, so it was a little more balanced in tea of special variety.

People did bash on the ldr mostly because it was awesome at shooting through walls. But as with all things here, get enough whiney bitches posting about it and it gets ”fixed "

3 RepliesI like Stillpiercer as main a Hunter. I can understand that if you're not a Hunter it can be hard to find another high-impact sniper other than 1000-Yard Stare (easy to get, easy to use) as not everybody likes Omolon's scopes.

They nerfed everything so snipers became the special meta and since everyone got a 1000yd from a quest it's easy to obtain

It's because thorn/last word was in combination with shotguns whilst people used blink and this was the main weapon load out that everyone used when ldr was a main sniper, now since the shotgun nerfs sniping has become more popular and a more reliable special and due to that everyone sees that it is the 1000 yard stare that killed them, plus is the only high impact sniper that you can get multiple times with different rolls that suit your play style
