One choice. One game. Witcher 3 Vs. Fallout 4. Which should I play?
I don't have a lot of time to play video games these days, but oh do I enjoy my RPG's.
I know W3 and F4 are hundreds of hours each to play, so I need to get everyone's thoughts on which RPG I should play.
I won't play both because I don't want them to take up the next year of my life.
Only one can be chosen.
Most votes by Saturday will be the one I pick.

3 RepliesWitcher 3 is the better RPG. Fallout 4 is the better sandbox. If you are looking for a great story with rich, fleshed out characters, go with the Witcher. If you want to go and "make your own story" play Fallout[spoiler]Though I hate Bethesda for not allowing us to do this properly. I just want to start of as a nobody and create my own backstory for -blam!-s sake![/spoiler]. Though I will say Fallout 4's story and characters are just plain, bland and lackluster. Hell, most of the Witcher 3 side quests shit on Fallout 4's main story altogether (and there is a TON of them) Simply put, you can't go wrong with either choice, but I would consider Witcher 3 a MUST play for any RPG fan; it is a -blam!-ing masterpiece! Most people that bash on the Witcher blame it on the combat (which I thought was very fun and fluid). Sure it may not be on par with the soul series, but don't let that stop you from playing one of the greatest games of all time. (Best game I've ever played, and I've been gaming since the NES super mario, duck hunter games). You really can tell just how much heart and passion CDProjektRed put into this game. I can't say I feel the same with Bethesda about Fallout 4 (it is a great game, though!) P.S. If you go with Witcher, get the Hearts of Stone DLC; it's arguably just as good as the main story. Witcher 10/10 (don't let the haters tell you otherwise!) Fallout 8/10

Witcher 3 is better. That doesn't mean fallout 4 is bad. In fallout 4 you usually end up fighting mutants, zombies, robots, and raiders. These enemies usually have the same personalities. In witcher 3 you have a much wider variety of enemies. You can fight humans, all of which have different personalities and nationalities. You can fight vampires, ghouls, harpies, demons, and disgusting witches. The story of wither 3 is thousands of times better than the story of fallout 4. And the voice acting of fallout 4 is like amateur hour when you compare it to witcher 3.

Fallout is picked clean with criticism compared to the Witcher. *runs* [spoiler]fight me Charlemagne/Progo/Tazer[/spoiler] With that out of the way....I'd still get Witcher 3 for $25 (got this during the holidays) over a full price fallout. If you can find a great deal for one, go for it. It's very close but ultimately I powered through fallout without ever noticing the time. The little stuff in that game is more enjoyable for me. However The Witcher has its strength through its story telling. Also, if it helps, I went into fallout incredibly hyped and still enjoyed it. I lowered my expectations for Witcher and was pleasantly surprised but not completely amazed. If I had to summarize my opinion: I like fallouts combat, exploration, crafting, collecting and environment more. Fallout is more enjoyable in small bursts while I feel Witcher requires long sittings to enjoy fully. Witcher has better dialogue (WAYY BETTER) and 2 previous games of story support (they've all followed Geralt whose a well developed character at this point). If you enjoy the small things in conversations like facial expressions you'll also love witcher's dialogue (Geralts expressions can be amazing). It's easy to get immersed. And you really end up caring for the characters even if you haven't played the previous games (it's easy to get lost in what the hell is going on however. Took me awhile to understand the worlds conflicts). EDIT: Oh, a point I forgot to make. Fallout is a lot easier to do the "Role Playing" part of RPG. It's a massive sandbox. While IMO Bethesda keeps dumbing down dialogue and choice variety, it's still better at that sandbox nature.

It is a more gritty fantasy setting that is very reminiscent of Game of Thrones as well. The soundtrack is just fantastic and truly fits the game as well. The combat is reminiscent of the Souls games, but is a tad less responsive. It truly works when you get into it though, as you'll see that your strikes take a good deal of time, and each type of dodging is better for different situations.

You can't even call it a RPG. While not the worst game of the year, it doesn't even begin to measure up to the Witcher 3.

3 RepliesI think the Witcher 3 is better because of the consequences that can happen. Depending on how you choose what to say and do in missions can dramatically alter how the mission can end. Some choices are obvious with what will happen. Others you won't see the consequence of your choices until a few hours or days later. It's super in depth and the world is beautiful.

Get phantom pain if you haven't already. It's better than both of these games in my opinion.
