High k/d is not always a good indicator of players being good. In year one, a lot of players boosted their stat to insane level by using the Thorn. I've met players with high k/ds who are assholes. After playing with them, I was convinced that they really sucked. They camped hard. They stayed away from confrontation and got a few kills. A kid I once played had a positive of 2+ k/d with only 8 kills. I had 19 kills with a .8 k/d, but I guess I sucked the most. Right? There are so many ways to rev up the k/d without really being a good player... In the end, though, we should just have fun.

  • Played with these two really good guys, they went 12-7 this one game and I went 6-10 with 12 revives and they called me bad. I literally resed you 12 times to get at least half of your kills for you.

  • Revives are game changing, yet they aren't taken into account.

  • I know right? It pisses me off when people complain about my game yet I have twice as many revives.

  • Ya after doing the chaperone quest with TLW I was like pls let this be over do I can stop camping. I'd rather die trying to 2v1 than run. Trials is a diff story tho, I run lol. My trials kd is super bad tho lol

The only game type that KD really matters in is Clash, if you go negative at all then that is bad for your team unless that is you made some key plays such as dropping a bubble to protect your team but then dying when you get FoH, as one example. Other game types KD is far less important, if you throw your body at protecting or capturing zones that can turn the tide of the battle against your enemy. I have always though win ratio is a much greater judge of skill than just KD.

Yes, I completely agree with you. Win/lose ratio is more important. I win more games than I lose actually. In trials, a death can actually win a match. For example, I know who my star player is on my trials team. I know he can pull insane comebacks, so I don't think about it twice if I have to sacrifice myself to res him because he died to a sniper who has inhuman like reflexes. Eventually he will get around to picking me up. Dying taking out an aggressive pusher can also change the outcome of a game, so as long as your team is nearby to pick you up and control the body. In control, I defend and take over zones, especially when your teammates are focused on only killing, forgetting to place the objective. I get killed a lot when I'm in these situations, but every struggle to control a zone makes a difference on the score board.

  • You can also take a look at how many points I gave the team. I helped push the game forward. unfortunately, I just had 2 more deaths than kills. Sometimes I'll be great and get a 3.5 k/d and sometimes I will play just for the marks or random reasons or without motivation and get owned. Maybe I suck, but I play the game. I don't just camp in a corner with a shotgun or sniper and wait for players to come to me.
