I have no problem playing older raids now. I have every single year 1 Vog ce trials and iron banner weapon and armor sets in my vault for all 3.
I'd rather just level up all the gear I have now.
There's nothing stopping anyone from going back & doing those raids.
For the sake of skill and a challenge it would be nice to have them at current light level with challenge modes and stuff
I'd rather Bungie focus on new content than tweaking old content

You are lucky that you have friends that are interested in doing vog. Mine lost interest.
I'd rather Bungie focus on new content than tweaking old content
Agreed. For some reason a lot of people have trouble understanding that it takes more than a few keystrokes to update a raid and infinite resources aren't a thing. I'd like to see them just add a third option with Y2 versions of the raid exotics in the boss loot table, that's likely pretty simple to implement. Doesn't even need to be a challenge mode or even significantly higher light as far as I'm concerned, it's only for one weapon after all.

This is what they should have done with nightfalls and dailies. But they wanted to blackmail us and force us to buy ttk...
-

nightfalls and dailies, were converted to level 40 ONLY, so Year 1 players are not able to do them. They should have designed two different levels: one for year 2 and one for year 1 players, with the appropriate loot table in each case. They did not do this because, they wanted to remove as many activities as possible for the vanilla+TDB+HoW owners in order to stress them to buy the TTK.
-
So you're one of those. I suppose you subscribe to the tired and bogus argument that it equals having content being stolen as well.
-
WTF do you mean by <<one of those>> . . .are we divided here in two opposing groups now? The owners of TTK and the rest? I am not sure why you hope that I subscribed whereveryousay, but I just express my opinion in this public forum. For your info, there is no argument, it is a FACT that they locked content that we bought.

Ok, that's all I needed to know. No point in discussing things further. I've been in enough circular arguments with people who think that's "stealing" or the delusional "cut content truthers" who hold the belief that the entire game so far, up to and possibly including TTK was actually complete, playtested, and 100% functional to be sold as the vanilla game but was cut out of pure greed and sold in pieces. I have much better uses for my time.

Edited by Rmtrx: 1/16/2016 9:01:45 AMi am talking about the locking of: currency year 1 items strikes 28 level drops from strikes (l20 strikes do not provide drops) control mode of crucible dailies nightfalls trials of osiris from players that did not buy TTK. this is what i was talking about, the fact. I had paid and i was playing these activities until TTK came out and r aped the game, converting it to a Demo of The Taken King. basically what they left us is the campaign and the raids. no other company has done this practice before.

If they were going to add taken to the old raids or update mechanics then yes it would take more than a few keystrokes. However implementing higher light on gear and taking elemental off primaries. And making it a higher level would be rather simple. It would not take long at all. Maybe a week or two. The reason it wouldn't take so long is because they would not be building the raid from the ground up. They would literally be adding year 2 values to them they wouldn't be messing with mechanics or physics. Or anything that involves alarge amount of coding the only way it would involve a large amount of coding is if the levels and numerical damage/defense statistics are at the cornerstone of everything involving that raid. And trust me it is not because that would be extremely illogical. So yes from a coders perspective it would just be a few keystrokes. A few thousand keystrokes is nothing to a developer

I do not believe that they will only upgrade light level and loot table with year 2 items for VoG. Because it will be easy food for players to upgrade by playing solely VoG, an activity which is considerably easier than King's Fall, which has Takens. If they did this, and if I had TTK, I would not touch KF. Only VoG. Easyyyyy moneyyyyy.

Thank u

I would like for them to focus on new content too, but it would be so easy to tweak the old raids to make them relevant in year 2. I miss VoG, but there is no reason for me to play it. If they just added the old raids and strikes back in the relevant content in Destiny would more than double. I don't know about you, but more content sounds nice to me.

I'm your huckleberry... - old
I just like the look of older gear... I hate the newer gear. Plus, I like having options. For example, I only get one option for faction gear. .. really? Just 1. I had fwc gear in 1 month. Now i have nothing to look forward to. Unless they gave us options for older gear with current perks. That's the thing, I wouldn't even mind getting the gear again at current levels if it means having something new to do and look forward to. I have 200 marks and nothing to spend them on... I've seen the same gear for months and have what I like or discard what I dont.
