Remove K/D from the App rant
Destiny's community is full of toxic, k/d, light level centric fanboys who gaslight other players into accepting regressive and anti-consumer elements of their game as OK. Critique of this game is impossible without getting bullied and harassed. In fact this post is likely to get a highly negative response for no reason; just watch.
Common idiot put downs include
-"your K/D is ... therefore you don't have a say about Destiny" (even though you paid for this product)
-"If you don't like it then don't play" (ignoring the fact that you can critique things you like, or reason in general)
-"Its not expensive" (except for poor people it is)
-"it's a good game, therefore you're wrong" (lol)
It would be hilarious and optimistic if this post doesn't get any toxic responses, but I expect them because this community is highly toxic and unreasonable. I never had this problem with Halo Reach, and there are games like Dark Souls, Ryzom (a Mac mmo I played), Eve Online, Bungie Halo games, to name a few, that have friendly and enjoyable communities. Those were the first few games that came to mind, but they all have one thing in common; good design. League of Legends has a terrible toxic community and that game has shit design. Destiny is the same as League of Legends; terrible design and a terrible community. Is this a coincidence? Probably not, n-no, no it's not...

You realize you have completed almost no end game activity, posses a low grimiore, and medal score with an equally subpar k/d. With your minimal experience and achievement you hold little to no clout. I encourage you to not pay attention to the rude comments, at the same time don't set your self up for them. There are several post, groups, and clans that do not require a light or k/d requirement that you can join.

2 RepliesI'm surprised I've never been told by someone that my K/D is low (which it is) or that I have only one raid completion. I guess I've just been lucky enough to manage to avoid them.

Well you should avoid putting yourself out there like this, kd matters to alot and stuff like this along with nerfs and the like throw it into question. Mines an average of .9, but I don't complain( i.e. ask for nerfs ) and usually no one digs into my stats. You could also unlink your account, but that throws other things into question as well.

1. Go to your profile 2. Choose settings 3. Remove the checkmark on "Linked Accounts" 4. The sniper/tlw spammers now officially can't read your stats

I just miss the diversity in PvP in year one Now there's only 2 primaries and 2 secondaries and 1 heavy That being: -Mida & TLW -1000yd stare & Conspiracy theory -Terminus Now I'm not saying they're overpowered ,I just miss seeing a hawkmoon or even No land beyond every once in a while I guess there isn't much diversity in the game as I thought year 2 would have

3 RepliesI mean, i have a decent K/D throughout Destiny but however the bullying and exclusion that comes with K/dD needs to end or nothing will ever be accomplished and/or the community will never grow. I've witnessed people in my trials teams and Iron Banner teams get abused and excluded because they don't have a high K/D.

The game's rng is the sole responsible for this toxic community. The rng pushes players to be at their maximum selfishness and hatred. If this game had a better rng design then all players who bought destiny would still play it, because unless the PSN or Microsoft's networks trophy counts are shit, then maths show that 65% of players stopped playing destiny before reaching vanguard lvl 1 lolllllllllll Only 25% of players reached lvl 3, and over 85% of players who bought this game never completed a hard raid. So essentially this game lives because of highly addicted players. Yet neither the game nor the rng are designed to make those players be community enhancers.

The Destiny community is a much larger, younger and more casual than a game like say for example Dark Souls. Of course, there are plenty of players who are mature and helpful but for any game with this big of a player base it is inevitable that it will have more than its fare share of douchebags and nincompoops. That's why you had a similar experience with the league of legends community, another game with a huge population. On these forums unfortunately people fall into two extremes: whose who whine incessantly about every little detail, and those who boot lick Bungie and feel they can do no wrong. It's just not realistic to expect everyone to agree on every issue. Everyone has their own opinions and it's a little naive to expect everyone to agree with you on everything.

1 Replyyou will never ever in your life play a FPS where K/D doesn't matter or is not taken into accounts. Even if bungie removed the k/d from the app, there will always be tracking websites that shows your stats even if you don't want to. And yes there will always be try hards who will shove their stats up your face and laugh about yours. This is how online fps works. It's not bungie's fault. However it is your fault if you get butthurt and take them seriously. Anyways, stats and k/d is a part of fps games.
