Fastest way to rank up your faction?

Another way to get heavy ammo for trade is from black wax idols to Eris, think you need to be rank 2 with her.

Motes will rank you up the fastest. Takes about 120 per level

What I use is heavy synths. IMO I feel like I earn a lot of strange coins. So I just stack them and every weekend I rank up my faction. I'd say I rank up 4 times per weekend. Motes is also effective.

Donations... Motes work the best. Farm PoE or public events for motes and you can rank up pretty quickly. on my warlock i went from rank 7 to 17 in a few weeks without much effort just donating my spare motes. I probably could get to 25 faster if I was trying harder.
