You realize that most guardians are like 3/4 dead from those 3 shots?
Reduction to 1 damage per stack is the worst idea possible.
If you feel pressured by thorn.
Just kill the people faster... Simple right? 3 body shots with thorn is about 3-4 bursts with a pulse, or even 3-8 shots with varying scouts.

Ummmmmmmmm. I don't believe this is true. Thorn has a pretty good fire rate. More than a good one. A great one.

Most players have 200 health-Ish 50 or so damage per body shot yeah?

Not entirely sure. I would kill myself before using thorn. :)

How much damage does the dot do?

3 per stack. So with 150 damage from 3 body shots you have 9 damage dot
