Preston Garvey won't follow me
So I've never used Preston, and now I can't. I finished the main story with the railroad, and now everytime I talk to him he tells me about how I'm a mass murder, etc. eventually ending with "what's done is done", leading me to assume that he doesn't hate me, but I can't initiate conversation with him other than the mass murderer thing. He still likes when I do things around sanctuary, so why won't he follow me? This is either a glitch or a really broken game mechanic.
Edit: This is how it works.
If you do the railroad ending, the brotherhood ending, or the Minutemen ending where you don't start the evacuation, Preston will refuse to follow you. Every time you talk to him, assuming another settlement doesn't need your -blam!-ing help, he will start the mass murder dialogue. Because of this, he can't sell anything from a settlement shop, as he will initiate said dialogue instead of asking to barter, but his store will still contribute to the happiness of the settlement.

It is a commonly occurring bug on every platform. Basically, after completing either the quest where you retake the castle or Old Guns, Preston won't begin dialogue with you. He can still give quests and will say one or two lines. To my knowledge, there is no fix yet. I have the same bug occurring.

I recommend you kill that dirty synth.

You .just have done something that made him diskike like you a lot. Preston isn't affected by which ending you choose, but he can be locked out of you make him dislike you enough.
