Factions
So I've been playing Destiny for a 6-7 months now and I'm loving it. But I've never been in a faction before. I'm light 294 and I never saw it as something I needed. But now I'm actually thinking about joining one. Any recommendations?

DO has best scout rifle in game that's not exotic, fwc has best hand cannon outside of imago loop and exotic, and new monarchy has something but I just don't know. Also go to the shader kiosk and ship kiosk. Each faction has 4 shaders and 3 (or 4) ships. Pick your favourite and go for it. Also note at faction level 25 you get an exotic class item quest. Might want to YouTube or Google what the they look like. They are a class item that you can equip along with a second exotic armor (doesn't count to your exotic armor slot). The only other thing I can recommend is read up on what each faction stands by and if you're a big role player then go for that faction. DO= everything must die eventually. Fwc= kill everything and do it efficiently NM= Roman catholics of destiny. Edit: spelling error

Unless of course you decide to stick with Dead Orbit. And faction you get to rank 25 offers a quest to get an exotic class item. Truthfully, whatever faction you pick doesn't matter. All they offer is ships and shaders that represent the colors of the group. Go with whatever faction you think looks best. Edit: if you're curious what the Dead Orbit Hunter cloak looks like, inspect my Hunter.

It's an easy way to get strange coins, which is primarily what I use them for. I liked dead orbit's aesthetic, and did the quest for the exotic cloak, but switched to FWC for no time to explain. I'd say it's worth it, as there is no drawback to being in one.
