Can a user compare the ps4 to the x1 with me without the biased crap that usually follows? I would like to have a decent conversation with a Sony person to find out all differences between the 2 consoles. For example tell me a feature and I will respond with what the Xbox one has or doesn't have and the quality of it.
Edit 1: People are under the influence that I'm looking for a console to buy and currently don't own one. I own a x1 since launch and I'm just doing a friendly comparison for a future possible purchase.

When it comes down to it, the differences really aren't that significant. On paper, the ps4 has a better architecture but at least for now, it doesn't add up to anything to make a decision on. Buy/play what you like.

1 ReplyThe 360 had an amazing controller and simple dashboard now the dashboard is a clutter Fûçk of colors and the controller the triggers suck the 360 had amazing triggers and its 2016 wtf does this shit still take batteries I don't find halo interesting anymore now it's just a cash cow it was fun 9 years ago GOW is a ok game didn't like any of them past the second one forza also a cash cow with tons of micro transactions every where and I really hate racing games I haven't turned my Xbox one on in a year I don't think I ever will again waist of 500$ considering every company is giving PlayStation exclusive content because it's got double the player base RANT OVER
-
I have both consoles, and to be honest I prefer the Xbox One Controller. It feels good while playing Destiny. The triggers feels more responsive, and using Mida with an Xbox One controller has more accuracy then on the PS4 controller. Also the Last Word feels good while using the Xbox One controller. But both are great consoles. I just prefer the Xbox One controller while playing Destiny.

Buy ps4

4 RepliesEdited by SolarCerberuS: 1/5/2016 1:54:30 AMI own both however prefer the one more available memory (ps4 ties it up with system crap), the xbox controller fits better in my hands ps4s is too small (for me) then the ease to add extra drives to the one plus the kinect for the kids is amazing, xbox live is more stable too might cost more (not noticable a few $ a year) but way more stable and user friendly imo end of the day comes down to personal preference nothing visually or performance based is noticable except maybe framerate flows slightly smoother on xbox (more useable ram perhaps the reason?) on the flip side ps is smaller and has more exclusive titles (none really outstanding though) and being sony more anime style games are available. Online wise I have found more kids on ps4 and more adult centered on the one in my experiences anyway. All boils down to personal preference in the end both are great gaming systems for consoles anyway. Can also stream xbox one to my laptop making mobile console gaming a breeze (can to any windows 10 based device I believe)

3 RepliesWell i just have ONE comment about PS and its that idk how PS guys use those controllers with that joystick layout. It just seems impossible to me to use them THAT close together. The Xbox layout seems better for me at least, anyone on PS care to explain their thoughts on that?
-
For me there are a few factors related to preference when choosing console, such as which exclusives you prefer, and what console your friends have.
-
All comes down to preference, IMO

I have both, my preference is playstation because for one, I love the Ps4's controllers. As far a graphics and frame rate, I'm not sure. I would have to have the same game for both to compare. The ps4 is just simple, very quick and easy to take screen shots and video. I used to take screen shots on my Xbone, I would have to yell at my Xbone to take a screen shot or save video, and sometimes it wouldn't do it. On the Ps4 you just push the share button. I still love my xbone, and if I used it more fore gaming I'm sure I would get used to it. I use my Xbone as my media center. It's great to have for exclusive games. I prefer playing Mind craft on my xbone because the sensitivity set up on the ps4 is way to high.

Edited by SquidGuy: 1/5/2016 1:05:17 AMThere really isn't much of a difference in hardware. Xbone is bulkier and has an annoying power brick. I, personally like ps4's GUI better. I can play with both controllers. The only thing that separates them would be games. If you can't live without Halo or GOW, get an xbone. I have both and don't touch my xbone.....ever. It was a waste of money for me.

Xbox live costs greater than ps plus. For example, Xbox live is about 24$ for 3 months. Ps plus is only 18$. Just a little benefit. Anyway, ps4 allows to instantly take screenshots or start recording gameplay, Xbox doesn't. That's useful for moments in destiny with good loot or awesome kills. If you wanna know more, lemme know. Those are just some specs I really like
-
I actually like the ps4 better then the One because of little differences it has. At first it was strange using the controller but I got use to it and now both feel good in my hands. The only problem I have with the One is that is doesn't record chat unless you are on Skype which I think they patched and no longer works, use the Kinect, or buy more cords or whatever and connect to a laptop, I dunno I don't remember anymore. :/ That really disappointed me. Not sure if it's been updated or not but I'm hoping they add an option to record chat on the One like on the ps4.

There are some hardware differences. For exclusives, the hardware differences won't matter - the game will be optimized for the hardware. For multiplatform games, Xbox may end up with the ported game instead of the native code due to the success of the PS4 sales. This is not a huge difference, but you may see visual or handling differences if you switch. The biggest undeniable difference is the controller. This is strictly a personal preference. I like the PS4 controller, others like the Xbox. Nobody is really correct. If you really want to maximize your gaming experience, you need to abandon the console and get a gaming computer (preferably one you built). That is a different story.

Both are practically the same thing.

2 RepliesThe only major difference is GPU shaders count, DDR5 ram & built in blu-ray player from a hardware perspective.

4 RepliesIn my opinion I enjoy PlayStation more. Controller feels better for my MY small hands. sorry only 13 I also think that the user interface on PlayStation feels a bit more clean. Easier to use in my opinion. I, however, believe that Xbox probably has or at least had better exclusives and games in general. Games like Halo and Forza are great. However expect a great year and the birth of some great exclusives for PlayStation. In my opinion PS4 wins. However it ends up coming down to personal preference unfourtanetly. Also, PlayStation controller's battery life sucks.

Xbox has slightly faster cpu, PS4 has better gpu and faster memory. They both have the same amount of memory but ps4 holds more in reserve for operating system. What this means for actual games? I don't think alot, either way. While it's true the ps4 beefier gpu could account for better looking games, developers have to utilize it properly. I really don't see much of an improvement from one to the other. I also feel some of the best games I have ever played look horrible. Games and movies have started relying on visuals while story and gameplay take a backseat. Everything else is subjective. What exclusives are you more interested in, what system do more of your friends have, what controler feels better to you. Also whether you have a ps3 or 360. If so, it makes since to get the next gen from that company to get the most out of the freebies for the subscription. Both companies each gave away approximately $2000 worth of games last year across all systems. Microsoft has said any 360 games they do from here on out will be backwards compatible xbox one titles. PS4 has remote play with the Vita. Hope this was unbiased and informative.

When I play destiny on the ps4 there are a few differences. 1. Xbox has less latency. 2. Xbox 1080p is slightly more crisp. 3. Ps4 controller feels better and maybe more precise. 4. Ps4 players tend to be less sweaty. But the added lag makes the bad kids that much better My final thought it that I love the controller. My reticle goes right where I want it to without thinking too much. Playing destiny of ps4 feels like playing a whole game. No restricted content and such, but the Xbox is smoother. There are just vastly more ps4 users than Xbox it seems.

For me all my friends play on xb1. I also prefer the Xbox one controller.

Edited by jhowle9475: 1/5/2016 12:44:25 AMI have Both and they are basically identical. They both share the same 6 core CPU with the same jaguar integrated graphics processor. The RAM is the only physical difference; Xbox one uses DDR3 and PS4 uses DDR5. DDR5 is faster than DDR3 but has almost 50% fewer data pipelines making the equivalent in performance. The graphical differences are this. Neither console can muster higher than 900p. Both console upscale 720p to 900p. Xbox one delivers sharp resolution across the whole screen but uses more video memory. The PS4 sharpens the center area of the screen and allows the edges to slightly blur using slightly less video memory. This enables slightly higher resolution where you normally look; in the area of your cross hair.

Edited by ConnorCT10: 1/5/2016 12:37:28 AMPs4 is better but if u like Xbox u can play Xbox I don't care what u play

5 RepliesProbably the only difference is graphics. There are a few games that run 1080 on ps4 but only 900 on xb1. It's a noticeable difference. Everytime I'm at my buddies house and he's playing destiny on xb1, I think it's good that they bumped it up to 1080, but it still doesn't look as good. Something about the lighting and shading isn't as good. I know several people who bought both consoles, none of their xb1's have been on in ages.

I guess it comes down to cups of tea but I prefer the ps4 controller feel wise. X1 feels too small like it was made for little kid hands. X360 were the best. This is the first time I've preferred a ps controller over a Microsoft. However, the PS4 controller sucks as far as battery life. The light bar is not only a gimmick, but a bad gimmick. X1 controllers have a nice auto off feature when watching Netflix and stuff. I hate the X1 interface. Feels like pulling teeth and I feel left in the dark about what my system is actually doing. On top of that, I feel like the ps4 boots up faster. Also, for some reason, my X1 streams Netflix better than my ps4. Better picture, faster loads, no buffering. On top of that, it's a little bit farther away from my wifi than the ps4. I think it all comes down to which system has more friends to play with. I'm mostly on my ps4 because my friends are. Also, I think the ps exclusives appeal to me more. I'm tired of halo, GOW and forza.
-
Well as soon as you buy a ps4 you can record 15min vids, on xbox without the kinect or whatever you can't record that long besides that the only difference I can think of is my ps4 controller feels more comfortable than the xbox mainly because I use R1 to shoot and L1 to aim. I got a ps4 my bro has xbox 1. Aside from those both consoles are really based off each other for competition so there's no REAL difference between the 2.

You're looking for an unbiased conversation but asking for someone with a clear bias?

9 RepliesI prefer the xbox because i have large manly hands. The ps controller is great if you have soft dainty female hands but for me my thumbs often touch each other while using those delicate thumbsticks. The xbox elite controller is industrial and really suits anyone who has hair on their chest
