Just Get Rid of PvP

WARNING: Rant Ahead Bungie, I don't know how many times someone has to say something. But you guys are TERRIBLE at game balance. It is no where near as good as it should be. So much so, that a bunch of my friends who are good at PvP say to actually balance it, or get rid of it entirely. I myself am good at Crucible but hate what you guys have done with the game. Constantly shifting from META to META, not fixing guns that common players can predict will be the new META. You are making the player base turn against each other because if their favorite gun happens to be the top tier weapon and people call out nerfs then causing a fight. I used to have respect for MIDA because it was a good all rounder, but now because Xur sold the META weapon (which he always does, because he's so helpful) it's running rampant around the Crucible. The only part of this game that is good is the PvE, which is the ignored child of the family. Given nice add ons here and there but not given the attention it deserves. Due to this game slowly dying to idiotic mistakes of not foreseeing the META and leaving PvE behind constantly, the most reasonable thing to do is just remove the failure of a PvP before it drags this game down. The weapon balance will be better since it's only PvE, exotics will shine rather than feel like Legendaries with special minute abilities. More content will be made available (whether or not you would make it free is beyond me, since Activision gave their insight about paid DLC and micro-transactions). The man power to create things for PvP will transfer to PvE and we could have more content. Raids could be brought forward, Prison of Elders could be more enjoyable to run, Exotics (such as Vex Mythoclast) could be made back to their original form. More areas could be available to explore and the current crucible maps could be used as explorable places (parts of it more like). Anyway, with how your patches don't actually change the style of Crucible (shotguns still running rampant with ridiculous range and snipers with super high aim assist) there needs to be something done. Rather than have your patches that "keep the game fresh" why not make a change, an actual change to make your game better. "If you fail to treat an infection on an arm, then the best thing to do is amputate it, before the infection spreads through the body."

        • Well articulated. Still, if they can't fix and balance pvp I wouldn't trust them to improve pve either. Abandoning half the game would likely help me give up on Bungie.

          • Small update on this post, my friends and I have made up a way that Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner would be competitive. There could be special event strikes (or raids even) that you have to complete a certain way or within a certain time frame. They would be a high light level and with modifiers that make it a challenge. Obviously Iron Banner wild be much easier than Trials if they were just PvE things, but Iron Banner could get progressively harder as you rank up. Just a thought/add on the the original post.

          • I like the sentiment and I understand it. But instead of removing PvP altogether, my idea is to make 2 different PvP types. Have one with pre set weapons to choose from like CoD for the people concerned about K/D. Have another play list that allows weapons you find and use from PvE. The playlist that allows PvE weapons would have a disclaimer basically that you are there to smash/be smashed and have fun (kind of like Mayhem style playlists). Hell, you could even make it so that you see you K/D for THAT match and that match only. After that match it resets to 0 so no matter how good/bad you do there would be no effect on your "real" K/D which could only be effected in the CoD style playlist. This should eliminate the PvP crying for weapon nerfs and everyone still gets to play PvP. I personally like the idea of taking my PvE weapons into PvP so I would want to still be able to do that in some form.
