how do i see this elo?

The Elo rating system is a method for calculating the relative skill levels of players in competitor-versus-competitor games such as chess. It is named after its creator Arpad Elo, a Hungarian-born Americanphysics professor. The Elo system was originally invented as an improved chess rating system but is also used as a rating system for multiplayer competition in a number of video games,[1] association football,gridiron football, basketball,[2] Major League Baseball,competitive programming, and other games. The difference in the ratings between two players serves as a predictor of the outcome of a match. Two players with equal ratings who play against each other are expected to score an equal number of wins. A player whose rating is 100 points greater than their opponent's is expected to score 64%; if the difference is 200 points, then the expected score for the stronger player is 76%. A player's Elo rating is represented by a number which increases or decreases based upon the outcome of games between rated players. After every game, the winning player takes points from the losing one. The difference between the ratings of the winner and loser determines the total number of points gained or lost after a game. In a series of games between a high-rated player and a low-rated player, the high-rated player is expected to score more wins. If the high-rated player wins, then only a few rating points will be taken from the low-rated player. However, if the lower rated player scores an upset win, many rating points will be transferred. The lower rated player will also gain a few points from the higher rated player in the event of a draw. This means that this rating system is self-correcting. A player whose rating is too low should, in the long run, do better than the rating system predicts, and thus gain rating points until the rating reflects their true playing strength.

Has anyone at Bungie confirmed if Trials sets up matches by ELO rating? I'm diamond tier in trials and one of my buddies that I play with is Silver. When he plays with me, he says that the teams are much more "try hard" than he is used to when he plays with his team. I'm not sure if that is coincidence or if match making actually does set up that way.

I will admit these advanced stats confuse the shit outta me. Can anyone tell me what my most "impressive" crucible stat is?

As far as I know ELO means nada in a game like Destiny. It's gonna be high for using the current meta with a decent team. This way actually everyone who does this is in the same league with low effort. Or low for not giving a shit about neither of those and just playing with friends. So basically anyone who has low ELO doesn't play to win all the time. Why would you?? You guys need a better measurement for your "skill". ASAP :D It's making you look bad if you even try to defend that system.

I looked on lfg for a trials group. Besides it being full of 0.8 kd players looking to get carried people were actually asking for 1600+ ELO, you're never going to maintain that playing with lfg kids. Anyway the only one that matters somewhat is rumble. Your ELO is only affected by you in that playlist, any others it's down to your team. Play solo and it's a gamble or play with a stacked team all the time.

How come everybodys talking about a british band from the 70's all of a sudden? I mean i liked the score to "mr blue sky" as much as anybody, but for it to be a trials requirement is frankly ridiculous. I mean my dad is a massive electric light orchestra fan, but destiny is aimed at a younger demographic, and so naturally wont be as knowledgeable when it comes to 70's british pop groups.
