How to close gaps with warlock
Hi everyone. I main a hunter and use my titan quite a bit in pvp. I show to all my guardians including my warlock. Im hoping a warlock main might help me with this. So with hunter speed and titan skating its very easy to prime a player and close the gap very quickly to finish the kill. On my warlock i have trouble playing like that. On bigger maps that allow longer ranged fights im ok but when I need to get somewhere quick i cant. Is there anyway to use the jump that doesnt make me so floaty? Also what stormcaller nade is everyone using? I could just be using them wrong but I dont see many hit marker. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Just want to say thanks for all the great help. I really want to get better with my warlock. I have it id like to be able to use it properly. Really thanks everyone lots of ideas for me to try. Im sure ill find one that works great for me. Oh the warlock fight club post was awesome!

My main is voidwalker and it is very slow in comparison to Titans and hunters. It took me a while to get use to it. Now if I want to get somewhere I just travel indoors rather than risking large open spaces

The Glide is best used in this manner by running, jumping, activating Glide and then swiftly canceling it so the momentum carries you. Takes some practice to get it right. Many players who are not used to Glide often try to fly through the air in PvP and end up being shot out of the sky like a mallard. Glide is excellent for floating behind aerial cover as well and it can confuse people who are trying to track you with their radar.

If you arnt interested in using blink then use focused burst and just double tap to turn it on then back off. Only do this once per jump though as warlock jumps don't reset untill you touch the ground so you only get one boost of speed. And I use arcbolt with the arc web perk

If you want fast, there's blink for that. .. Back to the regular jump, Just tap the jump button twice in quick succession, the aim in the general direction you want to go.

double tap jump twice fast with focused burst also lightweight and surge on void walker works well

Double tap very quickly. Repeat once you hit the ground. Make sure to use focused burst.

Edited by Peugeot: 1/4/2016 10:59:53 PMWarlock skating (mash jump button). Also use the second grenade with arc Web for stuff like rift and control where everyone will be bunched together. Use electrostatic mind for strikes and 3v3. And use either pulse or storm grenade for pve.

use the first nade and just double tap x while running you should get a great burst of speed

I mean blink is easy but the seed boost jump is really good for speed if you time it right when you're at the peak of the jump you will go forward pretty quickly

I have started using the different ideas. Last night I hit rank 5 banner with my warlock and she is my 3rd. Just the switch to focus burst really helped. Thanks again for the help on this community it is very much appreciated.

Alright. As a Voidwalker, your best option is still blink. That's the simplest one. For the other two, you need to use Focused burst. And don't do it while jumping up. Activate glide on the way down. It's a glide, so it follows your momentum.

1.Use focused burst 2.when you sprint jump and are coming down use your focused burst. 3.when you hit the ground repeat

1 Reply1.Equip the focused burst jump on the talent tree. 2.While running, hop into the air once. 3.While in the air, right before you start to fall again, use the glide and the focused burst should slightly boost you forward for about a second. --------------- Not as fast as blink but it's still pretty good.

I like to use focus burst and cancel my jump the second it slows down. Sorta like titan skating with hopping.

1 ReplyPractice with blink in strikes Focused burst is great for just about everything else except some peculiar acts of mountain goating(for said goating use balanced glide) learn to live and die by the MIDA Try sunsinger with the Heart of Paraxic Fire exotic chest piece for a bonus agility roaming super(try radiant skin and song of flame more often, self rez is a massive crutch...) Primaries and special weapons with lightweight are your friends. Tap the focused burst typically the only time you are jumping up a slope, or down a short slope. Learn how to sword glide appropriately. (Rapidly... Jump, then sword melee, then focused burst tap) No, I don't know what color the sun is.

If you know how to blink forward do that. Voidwalkers with surge are probably the best at rushing but warlocks are more of a mid range class in the first place
