How to improve Iron Banner

Some ideas on how to improve Iron Banner for Destiny 2. I just want to let you all know I love Iron Banner but want to see improvements in 1 - More map and game type variety. Instead of the same 3 maps all maps should be in the rotation and you shouldn't be able to see the same map after a game or two. More game types instead of Control there should be all types of 6v6 games like Rift, Zone Control and Clash. 2 - An option to choose the next map and game type. Just like CoD does it Destiny should to. After a game you get 3 choices Bannerfall - Rift Random Twilight Gap - Clash Simple and Bungie get to see which maps people like and what modes they like for future analysis. 3 - Less Secondary and Heavy Ammo. I think it's silly people running around using their secondary as their primary basically. My idea is you start with 6 rounds and there is only one drop of secondary ammo on either spawn for the whole game. As for heavy I think there should be only one chest of heavy and it drops in the middle of the map. This will make it a scramble for heavy and there is not an abundance of ammo. 4 - Dedicated Servers - For all that is holy please do it. I am tired of lag and red bars just have proper servers and group people together by location. 5 - Matchmaking- I see this different to number 4. There are many times when I am matched up with a team of vegetables and we get smashed then the game to break the teams up and assign new teams only for me to be paired with vegetables again. People in IB just fail to know how to play the game type and constantly go super negative. I am not an amazing Crucible player but do well and want competent teammates. 6 - Bans - if a player continually leaves games they should be given a ban Leaves 3 games in a certain period they get a 30min ban After ban is finished they do they same then they get a 2 hours ban on the third occasion they get a 24hr Crucible ban. 7 - Faction Rep - I want the rep to change and medallions to be taken away. My idea is winners get full report reward let's say 100 for a win and the losers get 50% of the rep reward. I don't like being on a losing streak getting no wins or rep because I can't control the 5 other players actions. I have been in matches were players don't cap flags and just hid snipe/shotgun. We get triple capped and destroyed. I shouldn't be punished for that. 8 - Gear - I like how we get rewarded on rank up and Saladins stock but I would like if rank 3 gave us a random weapon or armour at light level 300 because after so long the artifact is kind of useless. So a bit of choice would be nice. Rank 5 packages are perfect. On the note of gear I am a PS4 player and find exclusive content or locked content to be silly please get rid of this so all players get the same stuff on both consoles. These are some of my ideas. What are your ideas to help improve our Iron Banner experience?

  • Responding to the OP point by point: 1. Assuming all the maps work for Control, yes. I got both my 40s to rank 5 and if I see Exodus Blue and the two Dreadnaught maps again, I will scream. 2. Not sure that would work. People would pick the game they find easier to grind-or the ones the streamers tell them is-and people with a preference for the others would be boned waiting for matchmaking. 3. Less secondary ammo, possibly. Shotguns still seem to be killing at patently absurd ranges, though not as bad as they were before, and it would limit the sniper usage, forcing you to be tactical and strategic with limited ammo. Heavy ammo, right now the problem really is that challenge modes in KF are handing out Harrowed HMGs all over the place and those things just frigging [i]plaster[/i] you. Heavy ammo isn't the problem. 4. That would solve tons of problems and yet seems so unlikely to happen. Supporting the servers for a game with a population, account wise, that rivals World of Warcraft without sub fees seems to be a losing proposition. And has the problem that comes with MMOs where all the best people would flock to whatever server their favorite streamers were on. Think Iron Banner is fun now? Imagine the delight of an IB if you kept running into the Twitch.tv and Youtube populated servers. 5.Matchmaking should never pit six person fireteams against six randoms. Ever. I don't think a fireteam of more than 3 should be allowed on one team in Iron Banner, if the game can't pit fireteam against fireteam and random versus random. 6. The ban thing...no. If I check the lobby and see me and my five randoms are facing a team of 317-320 people in a fireteam, I'm -blam!-ing bailing that matchmaking. 7. Awarding rep for losing would just cause people to AFK, especially with the alt buff and tempering. However, the massive drawback to the medallion system is...go on a ten match losing streak, win, and you get only a percentage of rep for five losses. The only idea I was would still be vulnerable to AFKing, but maybe 40% of the rep for five medallions when you hit five? This is a tricky fix. Maybe more than 3 daily bounties? 8. Rewards. SImply put, light levels aside, [i]Iron Banner shouldn't drop blues at [b]any[/b] rank, but especially above 3 and definitely at 5. [/i] I actually think there should be a point where blues stop dropping period-maybe Nightfall?-but the raids, Trials, and Iron Banner shouldn't drop blues. Blues dropping in Iron Banner is especially silly since it actively encourages the highest Light possible. The ranks should drop particular ranges, with rank 5 dropping 310-320. Remove "nothing" from the loot table of the entire game, and make it so single motes of light never drop again. Just a few thoughts from a PVP scrublord.
