I think we can all agree that the crucible could be much better than it is. A couple points to hit on.
1. Metas. For over a year now all we wanted was balance and this guy continues to push from one op gun to another.
2. Map rotation. I played for 2 hours tonight after work and played only on 2 maps (cathedral of dusk and vertigo). There are so many maps, bring them all into the iron banner/regular crucible rotation. Why have just a playlist for year 1 maps when you can add refreshing changes by not playing the same maps over and over while playing crucible. all the maps in all the game modes.
3. Lag. Though this may not fall completely on him, it does severely affect his department. With iron banner upon us (and let's not forget trials) the lag issues are real. You can't play a game without at least 1 person red barring and in turn messing with everyone else's connection. As the lead of the pvp department I feel he should be working hand in hand with other departments on how to limit the issues we are having with lag. I do find it funny that when playing trials once you hit the 6 wins mark you are almost guaranteed to get matched up with a red bar opponent.
In conclusion destiny could have one of the best pvps ever if only the person in charge took it serious. Seems like he is just having his own fun, ie choosing which gun we will be forced to use next or be below the curve if we dont.
Any discussion on this issue is welcomed.
Cheers guardians!

How the hell is it the weapon balance guy's fault that there's lag lol

I played several maps last night. The server selects players and adds them to the next map in rotation. Unfortunately, this means that you might get added to a subset of the maps based on the timing of when your latest match ends and which map the server has chosen next. A cheater doesn't have to be red bar to lag. I encountered several cheaters last night whose connection showed green bar, yet they were teleporting and taking no damage. One cheater had acquired 47 kills by the end of the match, most of them with a shotgun + teleport. In another match one cheater was running a sword for 5 minutes -- long after everyone else had used up their heavy ammo. Obviously, there was something going on here, such as manipulation of the MTU and QoS.

4 RepliesHave you listened to the 3 hr podcast he did with planet destiny? He goes into a lot of detail on why thry make certain decisions and what not. After listen I was pretty content that Bungie knows what they are doing.

Edited by Revelasti: 1/1/2016 11:07:44 AMPlayers decide meta, often without reason. I have personally experienced great diversity lately. Map rotation has definitely not been an issue for me, but you might be merging with different hosts every game which can lead to repeats. Red bars have existed in all fps games, ever. It cannot be fixed.
