So when did Mida become the new Thorn?
It's a shame that ppl flock to an OP weapon instead of variety. Is there a name you give to player that just flock to the newest OP weapon?

1 ReplyThe weapon isn't Op it's just that everything else has been weakened to the point where it seems that Mida (which has been considered balanced until now along with the other scouts) is over powered. We have gone full circle to the point where the weapon type that was (arguably) the most balanced, seems too strong now because every other weapon type has been weakened.

I still rock my Antipodal Hindsight. I have a 314 mida. But I just haven't grown to like it I guess.

it was just sold by xur. it'll die down. I only use Mida for the speed boost when i'm exploring.

I've used MIDA daily since early in Y1 so I am on OG MIDA fan. It is NO way a new Thorn. Very well balanced and perfect for people with my play style but not OP at all. Hung Jury is a close match except for the agility buff. Until they rolled up the new Y2 MIDA I used Hung Jury and everyone wanted it then.

Couldn't you just put your 2 cents in on one of the 500 other "MIDA is OP" threads? It's the same as it has been since year one: good in medium to long ranges where scouts do their best. If you feel you're getting wrecked by it then equip something that will do better in CQC and close the gap.

It's definitely not op. But with all recent nerfs it is absolutely the most reliable.

People just use it because it's a fan favorite that just got brought to year 2, which xur just sold, which is no longer overshadowed by vastly superior guns as it has been in the past. And also because many predicted it would be the new op gunner-patch, and not many have done testing of their own.

Lol it's far from OP. It actually requires that you land 4 crit shots or more if they aren't crits. Any of the formerly godly pulse rifles still compete with it just fine as do hand cannons, some auto rifles and all scouts. Thorn allowed you to 2/3 shot cross map and then run away. Huge difference. I completed the Shaxx bounty to get 10 kills on each primary type with zero problems even against Mida.

It's not even close to thorn lol. There will always be one popular weapon however, that's how these games work, you'll never have a situation where there isn't one primary being used more than the rest.

People looking for anything to make them better I guess. They figure scouts are one of the few unnerfed weapon types so they're using them. People will always flock to anything they think gives them am edge, be it Thorn 1kyd stare or whatever
