There really is no excuse for an ONLINE ONLY game released in 2014 to not have dedicated servers.
reality is destiny is what it is. If destiny 2 doesn't have dedicated servers the only thing we can do is vote with our wallets and refuse to buy more of this.
I am fortunate to have great internet, top shelf networking gear, wired network connections, and the knowledge to make it all work properly
No other game besides destiny gives me errors, lag, connection issues, chat issues, long list of other inexplicable issues and we have 3 xbox 360's and 2 xbones.

I like what your saying but BF 4 had the worst laggy rubber banding ever so its not just Destiny. But I do think people are exploiting their shitty WIFI or DSL connection and some are lag switching . when I look at the lobby in orbit and everyone is solid green then second the match starts a 3 team fire team is red barring and are all leading in points its clearly people looking for and edge

Epic did this with every Gears of War. Constant bitching was to get dedicated servers and they never did it for any of them. Host shotty FTW.
-
Yup destiny 2 will not be bought by me if there is no dedicated servers. It's too late for this game. But they better fix it for the next.
-
If destiny two doesn't have dedicated servers I'll stop playing. I enjoy the game now more then ever but lag when I'm always a green bar ruins any fun.
-
They also have 4 systems that destiny is on. Wait till Destiny 2 before you start bitching.
-
Don't you think bitching before destiny 2 is a good idea? Let's them know what the community wants before they actually make the game and we have no influence on it.
-
Nope. Best bet is to go onto Reddit, or tweet them continuously. It'd work better than the forum posts.
-
Money is the excuse. You have no idea how much to invest for dedicated servers and their operational/maintanence costs.
-
Actually it's not that much more, as servers are rented from the likes of Cisco ect.
-
*500 mil budget*
-
my point is more on principle that money should not be an excuse to fail to do the right thing - money/greed is obviously why they didn't do it fwiw: I used to work at a major telecom data center and have a pretty good idea what it takes
-
I know it is all about the $$$ More specifically it is all about the fact Bungie would most likely be best off having it hosted on Microsoft Azure and after thumbing their noses at MS (who gave them free reign to make awesomeness albeit xbox exclusive) that is unlikely to happen.
-
Same here, dude. It's one of the reasons I stopped playing. Can't tell you how many times I got kicked in the groin by an error code. Bungievision really needs to step up their game
-
I have a theory. Dedicated servers are the answer for sure. I figure the reason we don't have them for destiny is money. Dedicated server for four platforms can't be cheap. Maybe for destiny 2, if it is for xb1 and ps4 only. But who knows?
-
Dude preach it!
-
yep for me, no dedicated servers will mean no destiny 2for me...I love this game and have been able to look past the faults that many players couldn't...however, if I can't play because lag is literally breakingthe game, then there is no reason to buy it
-
Sure there is an excuse. MONEY. It costs Money. They have money, and they don't want to part with said money.
