*****EDIT #1: Now with 400% more genius, thanks to r0tten app1es and CRUSH LIMBAUGH!!!*****
#1: Remove the limit on max number of Iron Medallions a Guardian can carry at once.
#2: Any player that quits by choice loses all Iron Medallions accumulated.
#3: Any player that loses connection to the match is not punished in any way.
#4: No Guardian can ever be matchmade into ongoing games twice in a row.
#5: Any player that quits ongoing games repeatedly or consistently loses connection when losing matches is now subject to a temporary ban.
You always get rewarded for sticking around, no matter what. You always get punished for leaving (unless you have no Medallions to begin with!). And players who quit all the time get the banhammer. Problem solved. Fast. Simple. Effective.
What do you think?

Titan: 308 Looking for a strong fireteam who will show no mercy. Add: SupremeRaccoon

What would happen if a Guardian had a Fireteam of 6, and they all left? And then, what if someone left because the other team was populated by all laggers?
-
I like the idea of a "cool-down" on being put into ongoing matches. I understand that sometimes the matchmaking needs a single to fill a hole in a game, but don't punish someone by choosing them repeatedly. However, the idea of losing all medallions when quitting is overly harsh. Sometimes real life gets in the way. Would you prefer I just sit AFK while I deal with stuff away from the console?

4 RepliesSo let me tell you a story that happens all too often when I play with randoms (we refer to them as blueberries or sometimes we personify them as Randy Blueberry). The latest incarnation of this story was last night on Rusted Lands... of course we had A and they had B and C... So B seemed to be a kill zone, so I decide to go to C to try and draw attention... I jump up, and immediately throw a trip mine right on top of me while I cap C... So I neutralize it and then here it comes... Two guys come at me, one from lakeside one from the stairs... I charge to meet the guy from the stairs and get him with a shotgun, The other guy jumps up to take me while I'm distracted and he runs right into my tripmine.... A third guy comes out of nowhere and actually here, I should have been dead, but he misses with a shotgun and I get him with a throwing knife.... I throw another tripmine up on the point and jump back to cap it, but a fourth guy immediately jumps up before I get there and runs into the mine, I get on C, but a fifth guy comes in an gets me with a shottie... So that was 5 guys, but lets say a couple of those were respawns of the same guy so maybe it was 3 individual guys. So here is why I quit the game. That altercation was 20-25 seconds long. In all that time no one came to C to help out and in all that time where at least 3 guys were occupied on C, the other 5 players could not capture B from at most 3 enemy players... screw it... I'm out.

1 ReplyUmm they need to raise the reputation when you win cause winning this games is pretty hard even with a full team. They need to put it to at least 150 or 200 rep not -blam!-ing 69. 69ing our butts with this rep like shit. Ok I'm done.
-
How about when the entire enemy team's best connection is one guy who is barely yellow? Cuz you can eat a bag of Deeocks if you think that's not a good enough reason to quit.
-
What if we have to go somewhere and turn off the playstation in the middle of game?
-
1 ReplyIf I get put in a game losing by 10,000 points and the whole enemy team has super and heavy I will stay to get a few kills (take out their heavies) but if the team clearly have no capability to at least try and catch the score, I will leave. You shouldn't be penalised, I don't think you should even be put in the game.
-
Why ppl quit is a mystery to me, unless you have maxed medallions, then you need to think about life decisions if you've maxed medallions.
-
-
Nope. Rather than punishing quitting, incentivize staying. Offer unlimited IB bounties. That way, I have a reason to stay in a match that is clearly lost very early on.
-
2 RepliesSorry but if I have to deal with a lag infested lobby with a Warlock with Ram that is top of the leader board and you get someone disappearing off screen and suddenly appears to kill you with a shotgun, then yes I'm leaving the lobby. OP is salty cause he's on the loosing team and people leave. Lol

I think people should stop trying to force people to play games how they think it should be played. Play or don't and stop worrying about how others play. If how others play makes you angry that's your problem.
-
A 10 minute time out from being able to matchmake.
-
Until matchmaking is fixed, can't punish quitters.
-
A game with team of 6 vs 2 randoms and me? No thanks I don't want to waste time in something lagged as -blam!- and where the game doesn't put any other player in the rest of the game.
-
2 RepliesNaughty step mentality, no where near harsh enough. it's quite simple really if you quit for no reason other than being pisspoor then a 3oC should be removed lol 1x 3oC for 1st offence which then multiplies every time you quit. It will make those that treasure a chance for an exotic think about it just a teensy bit more.
-
But sometimes I quit when I'm thrown into a almost done game on the losing side because I actually want to play the game instead of picking up someone else's mess..
-
None of this is needed. The issue isn't that there are quitters it's that the mercy rule is still broken. Reason people are quitting is because they are being destroyed and they are not going to win, so they quit. Easiest solution is if the team drops to 6v3 award the remaining 6 with a win and 3 with a loss and end the game or pause the game to connect 3 new players into the game. For some the pause is a bit much, but as I noted usually these games are out of control to begin with and the mercy rule should kick in, but for whatever reason it's not kicking in as often as it should. There's no reason teams being blown out by 5000 should even be continuing a match. I've seen teams close a 5000 game, but most times this does not occur.

1 ReplyEdited by Sixclicks: 12/30/2015 1:37:05 PMIt's really simple. Either remove the cap on IB medallions you can have or make it so loseing still gives you rep at a reduced rate compared to winning. Because there is absolutely zero reason for me to stay in a losing game when I'm capped on IB medallions because of how stacked teams are against solo players. I can't be expected to carry the 5 scrubs on my team who can't seem to figure out which end of the gun bullets come out of. Edit: Also, connection is a major contributing factor. No one wants to stay in a red bar game.
-
4 RepliesAs for your edits: #1 :If you remove the medallions cap, people would afk with their controller rubberbanded while they were at work or school , and come home to a massive amount of medallions. #2: so i have 5 medallions. My kid suddenly falls and hurts themselves. youre saying i should be punished that severely for an instance where quitting would actually be beneficial to the team since i would be afk otherwise? I understand some people quit just to quit, but you have got to think of everybody. #3: Ok #4: Great idea in thought, harder to have happen in practice #5: temporary ban? or do you mean a timeout? Halo reach had a timeout thing. Quit more than 3 matches in a period of time, you can't play for half an hour. I feel like that would be enough to suffice. i don't think that a full day ban is necessary.

Edited by Story: 12/30/2015 4:28:20 PMUnless they can fix their shit and stop KTOs, this will hurt more innocent players than guilty because this is bungie and they can't tell the difference between kto and leaving a match on your own free will
-
Shut up op
-
1 Replythey wont fix getting a loss on TOO for getting booted to orbit ,they wont do it for your idea ether . and... with the massive problem with cheaters ,i think everyone has a right to backout away from that bs. banishing players is wrong if they didnt cheat.they paid for the game and have the right to play red bar or not. i do think there should be a minimum connection requirement to enter crucible .so if your connection is good today you play, not so good tomorrow because family is netflixing then it wont let you enter, try again later.
-
5 RepliesNo punishment, can't fault people for quitting a match because there time is being wasted by incompetent teammates, natural lag from crucible or players cheating.
-
1 ReplyThey would have to stop joining in prog then.
