HOW TO DO THE VIDMASTER: ENDURE WITH ONLY TWO OR MORE PEOPLE WITH EASE! -by The best burner and A Large Grizzly (add for help) Hey to all you gamers who have been struggling with the seemingly impossible Vidmaster Endure challenge! Have you trawled through all those guides, trying to find the right one and found every single one requires the skill of an addict/nerd/partially obsessed halo player? I'm here today to give you a simple pathfinding glitch in the ODST/Halo 3 game engine that will solve all of that. My strategy can be employed with two or more poeple. YES 2+. Guests count as a valid player in the Vidmaster challenges and reduce lag incredibly. All you do is hide them at the back of the spawn zone in Alpha Site, and no covenant will ever find them if you follow my guide. (but keep an eye out just in case) As most of the Endure guides start, load up the map Alpha Site. Now here is the crux of the matter. At the very start, bolt into the elevator that takes you away in the campaign. It is the only elvator you can enter, between the two stairs that the covenant come down. Go inside this room and viola! The Endure challenge is now nothing for than a 3 hour pushover. What you will find is that all the enemies that come your way will be stumped as to how to use a door. Some will come up to the glass walls and try and bash their way through, some will stand there in awe at your ingenuity, and others will go phsyco trying to melee you through a wall of glass. This makes Endure a simple process of picking off your enemies from a spot where none of them can reach you. Brutes are the best, as at a preset range they will switch to the melee mindset. THIS IS WHERE ONE OF THE BEST GLITCHES comes to play. Almost every game has this bug, where if a biped model is adjacent to a thin wall, the gun will go through. So when brutes come to melee you, parts of their bodies/guns will stick through the wall. How does this help you? Simply shoot/melee the bits that stick through. It takes some time to figure where to melee them, but once you get it you can kill every single brute with this glitch. If you're finding it to hard to hit the bits sticking throught the wall, try jump meleeing. Its a trick I found that if you jump and melee, you can hit them over the wall from a rather impossible position. Just be carefull about beam rifle jackals. Hunters are another simplicity. Load up one of your guests (if you're using them) and take him out of his hiding place at the back of the spawn points. Now grab a sniper and put 2 rounds through the orange of the hunter. This will drop them straight away (sorta like the pistol in halo 1). Even if you hit the metal, the hunters will not bother to turn around as them will be too busy trying to melee the people inside the elevator (and failing). Drones are the only major problem as they can fly. Even so, they too seem stumped by the amazing technicality of a door. They tend to fly over the wall in a trickle, maybe one every twenty seconds. We only ever had a group of 3 drones make it in at one time ONCE. Chieftans are the wreckers of the party. We had a few hilarious run ins where suicide grunts ran up and killed chieftans (suicide grunts detonate on the outside of the glass whithout affecting you) but the gravity hammer ones pose a real threat, mainly because they can push you off the map. My general strat for wave five is grab as much fuel rod and rocket launcher ammo as you can (the rockets are on a wall near where the phantoms land) and hit the gravity hammer chieftans while they are still at a distance. This way by the time they reach you, their invincibility will have worn of (its about 10-15 seconds). If they have closed while their invincibility is still on, run FORWARDS as your forwards movement is faster than your backward, and keep jumping. As long as you jump just before they hit you, the chieftans will generally launch you miles without any damage to your base health. Then you just shoot them up with SMG's or assasinate them in the back. The black eye round used to be my major obstacle. But this glitch of meleeing people through walls has solved all of that, ensuring there is always a brute standing there, ready to give you some health back. This startegy worked for me and my friend the first time we discovered it, and we did it with only 2 people and 2 idle guests to avoid lag. Only 3 out of approximately 1500 enemies achieved walking through the elevator doors. These were easily killed by an assasination from my friend or I, as we where standing on opposite sides of the door. So there you have it, a guide that doesn't require the addictedness of a l33t general. Remember, camping IS a legitimate strategy (Red vs Blue). I may make a youtube video later for those who can't visualise this startegy. A trick from mastercmj2003- while I disagree with most of his strategy as it requires boundless amounts of skill for upward of 2-3 hours, which most people lack (no offense, I'm in that category) I loved this little trick for the bonus round to which I acredit him: On the bonus round, look up to the windows which the grunts fall out of, and headshot them, and grunt birthday party will kill all of the grunts giving you a killionare and a mountain of points (upward from 50,000). Personally, I used a rocket launcher, but hell it still worked. Btw-Posted with wrong account-My gamertag is as listed above "The best burner" NOT the one linked with this account. The "I'm in that category" is an attempt to not offend anyone who couldn't pull that off or didn't wish to WASTE their lives like some people. Unlike some people around here, I do not try and give myself a high by asserting dominance about how good I am over everyone else, regardless of my skill level (you have no idea what it really is) This guide is for the non-addicted, more normal people of society And don't be a -Blam!-.
