XBL Connection Help

Hey guys, so my XBL connection has been going in and out ever since I hooked up my Xbox One and I was wondering if anyone knew a better way to improve my connection. My one is right next to my router and my Xbox 360 is hooked up to the router as well.

  • Going wired could of course help. But I play on wireless and there are a couple things I do when I'm having internet problems. 1. Turn off everything else I can that uses WiFi. Like my phone and my laptop. 2. Do a power cycle of the Xbox One. Hold the power button for 10 seconds or just unplug it and plug it back in. 3. Disconnect your wireless headset if you have one. They can actually interfere with the connection. Disconnect it, and test your connection. If everything is all good now, you should be able to reconnect your headset and your connection should be fine. Hope that helped, if you're still on wireless!

    • If its right next to the router, don't bother with wireless. Get an Ethernet cable and use wired. It's not really beneficial to have a router right next to the system as still use wireless, in fact it might be detrimental due to electronic interference. If you already have it wired, try disconnecting other devices when not in use. The bandwidth might be taken up by other devices. Other than that, I could only really tell you to check with your ISP or your network settings to see if there is something you can do to improve it.
