Reading through these comments its clear nobody reads a post title properly. No need for all the hypothetical debates or what if im at this boss with these gloves on. Its right there...DPS. Damage per second!!! BS - Higher Impact, no reload = more damage PER second. Thats the only answer.

Higher impact, and your mag is refilled after landing 3 precision shots. However, for bosses like Oryx, where you cannot land precision hits, 1000 ys is better because you can use the exotic slot for something like ToM.

DPS is unquestionably the Black Spindle, however, in reality in the raid the 1000YS can out perform the BS. How? The BS requires perfection, so no missing shots due to things like flinch. It is easy to miss a shot cause the warpriest's head jerked, then you have the BS slow reload. The 1000YS which is easy enough to get with a sweet perk roll can make up the minor DPS difference on those one maybe two reloads a non perfect BS round creates. Yes you can adjust the BS shots to not miss, but then you might be firing even slower, evening the damage again.

I saw a God tier roll with 1KYS, where you can end up getting 7 shots in a mag, but Idk if it beats BS, just due to it being able to drop it's entire capacity every time. Sure you could get the 7 shot mag, but I figure you'd only be able to get around the same amount of shots with having to reload once or twice, and BS has higher impact, so at the same rounds, BS out does it.

2 RepliesEdited by michaeljacksen: 12/28/2015 3:33:51 PMOne thing that sucks about Spindle, is with the mag refill perk ; you're encouraged not to step back into the Weapons of Light bubble cuz you don't have to reload. The time the Spindle gives you to land 3 critical hits is very forgiving, so I was get the mag refill. War Priest - keep going back to bubble Gorgloloth - not much time, just plant feet and shoot.

7 RepliesGolgoroth fight, I use the black spindle and hit total damage in the [u]millions.[/u] If you don't have a black spindle, use a 1000 yard because the impact, along with a perk like triple tap works great.

I already made the case that 1k can do amazing damage and is able to out-DPS a Spindle with the right perks and someone able to take advantage of them. You can also take a Year 1 comparison of Black Hammer vs Efrideet's Spear. With reload gloves and a decent user you can out-DPS Black Hammer. This was demonstrated by Slayerage when he was expressing his distaste in the Black Hammer nerf. Black Hammer carried less ammo than Efrideet's but had the same fire rate and Impact rating. Add in everyone's favorite Final Round and quick reload and reload canceling, you had a weapon that could out-DPS Black Hammer once the nerf to its White Nail dropped.

2 RepliesMy 1000-yard stare shoots 7 times. My 1000-yard stare holds 23 shots. Black Spindle gets like 21 shots. My 1000-yard stare gets 2 free bullets in each clip of 5. My 1000-yard stare can shoot 31 times. My 1000-yard stare can also deal bonus dmg to Taken. Black Spindle deals more dps on standard enemies, but less damage over a greater period of time. That greater period of time, my 1000-yard stare will deal more than 7 extra shots of black spindle. Not only that, but I pair my Sleeper Simulant with it, which deals 1.8x that of Black Spindle. I shoot 3 shots on tether, and 3 more shots when out of 1000-yard stare. My 1000-yard stare will out-dps a spindle vs taken enemies, however. The positive of spindle is, and always has been, firing a non-stop (nearly) stream of sniper shots upon a boss' face. However, once the ammo is up, what will you do? No other weapons other than Sleeper have a high crit multiplier.

Depends on the situation and target. Most the time I would say black spindle since in sniping situations you typically have the ability to get crits and aim for them so its perk will most the time be active. The stare would outdo if its perk fails for any reason due to its extra mag size and flexibility in perks like triple tap allowing upto 5 shots are once. (Could be 6 if there was a 5 mag stare don't think that exists though) I miss the revenge with 6 bullet mag and pretty much 0 kickback

1 ReplyEdited by Brave: 12/27/2015 9:50:50 PMIf you need dps, I assume you are talking pve, and If you need a good legendary for pve, buy eirene from gunsmith. It has the same rof as 1000 yd stare, and more impact, and it can roll with LITC which is good for boss killing as well.
