Warlocks are useless in PvE. There is absolutely nothing that they bring to the table that the other two classes can't do. Self Rez is a crutch and an absolute waste when generating orbs is a priority.
Ohhh man did I touch some nerves with this one.. Btw, every single one of you warlocks that has responded currently has Fireborn equipped.. You're proving my point for me.

Lol wtf stop being a hypocrite. You got that shit equipped on your Warlock. A sunsinger with fireborn.
-
When has a classes capabilities to do similar things as another made it useless? You're free to spout whatever secretion you wish but use some logic when doing so yeah? If warlock is useless because it doesn't do anything another class can't, wouldn't that make them similar? And if they're similar then they would both be useless because one class doesn't do anything the other can't. For example warlock void bomb clears out a large group, but titans can do the same, therefore by your logic warlock is useless. However, again by your logic, titan would also be useless because warlocks can do the same. Could you try better next time? Thanks babe.

Allow me to completely obliterate your argument. Yes, I said that warlocks can't do anything that the other classes can't.. But that doesn't make them on par because the other classes can do things that separate them. But hunters and titans can control adds as well as a warlock. Both H&T can provide massive damage buffs for their allies, warlocks cannot. Both H&T generate orbs for allies, warlocks can but choose not to. When it comes to playing in a fireteam, I will take the two classes who's support subclasses actually support the fireteam. There is no tactical advantage to having self rez if you don't die in the first place. Last night I played through all of Kings Fall HM as a Stormcaller and I was wholly underwhelmed by its play in PvE. The lightening grenade is its only strong point. It wasn't a fun experience and I felt like I wasn't contributing anything to the fireteam other than damage output (less damage output I can achieve than with either of the other two classes).
-
Again, you say warlocks can generate orbs but they choose not to, this isn't a warlock thing it's the player. Choosing res as a perk is also a player choice. Personally I find the higher defense more useful but I alternate with the perk that speeds up my teams super power recharge as well.Wouldn't that be considered a buff and a fairly decent one? As for your second paragraph, sounds more like personal opinion than anything else. Like me playing a titan, sucking ass and coming to the conclusion it sucks overall. Ultimately your argument is focused on player choice in builds, not the class itself, which fails to prove that warlocks are useless. Playing around with stormcaller and feeling overwhelmed is your problem.
-
I said I was underwhelmed by its abilities, nothing about being overwhelmed. And you're right, it's about player choice.. And 99.9% of warlocks choose not to support their team while using their support subclass. that's what this whole thread is about.
-
I couldn't care less about the thread, your thoughts on warlocks or your overall argument over classes. I was pointing out your terrible choice of words. You seem to admit that your idea of warlocks is part of the player equation and not the class itself. That doesn't make the class useless and I want you to know nothing you've said supports your claim. Would of been more accurate to say 99.99% of players don't know how to play a decent warlock. Accurate to your logic, of course, not mine.

Edited by Slothybabe: 12/23/2015 8:00:53 AMIsnt technically weapons of light and tether crutches? I mean they make the fight easier. I dont follow your reasoning. Is self rez bad because it lets warlocks play as aggressive as they want with no repercussions? Like isnt a crutch designed to make walking easier? Self rez doesnt make the raid easier, bubbles and tether do. Also, none of the above are necessary to complete the raid, this comment of yours wasnt thought out very logically.

^ right lmfao. Warlocks have an insane recovery time. Flame shields on the hit not required to kill like the titans shield. Most precise jump/glide ability, fusion grenades are beast. I play all 3 classes and my favorites in order. 1 warlock. 2 titan. 3 hunter. But I enjoy all 3 of them. Recovery is such a great asset so I lean towards the warlock.
-
I'm 320 with voidwalker main, I never use sunsinger. I can kill 3-4 knights every single cycle and I haven't died on the hard raid in over a month a single time. Get WAY the -blam!- up on my level.
-
holy godly fusion rifle
-
I don't really care about what you have to say, just wanted to post as a lock without fireborn.
-
Ditto
-
Big mouth? Check. Ignorant POV? Check. Hunter? Checking.
-
So do you lmao wow the scrub is strong with you this warlock helped newbs beat the oryx challenge on normal with no defender Titans, it's about the players ability more than what class they use and how many times did warlocks cheese everything in vog and crota
-
Checks stats Sits back and laughs Oh I main all three classes
-
You have self rez equipped *drops mic*
-
I don't "main" a warlock and I was forced by my teammates to use it while running challenge mode last week. That was the last time I even touched it.
-
You still have it equipped. Reasons why are irrelevant.
-
-
Just another ignorant "know it all"
-
If I do know one thing, it's that warlocks are utterly useless in hard mode raids. You're better off with 4 hunters & 2 Titans or 3&3.
-
Your just a troll if u hated warlocks, you wouldn't have talaloc
-
10 hours later and you still can't get over the harsh reality of things, huh?
-
I had to see what the fuss was about. It's a fun weapon to use, unlike the class as a whole.
-
How? Stormtrance is a life saver during Golgototh and self rez, although a selfish super, can be the difference between a completion or another wipe. I always use either Voidwalker or Sunsinger for oryx and its proven invaluable, especially if someone is having trouble with ogres or if I somehow die.
