Nolanbot? Dinklebot? What if... you could record your own Ghost voice?
Every now and again, I see a thread asking the same question; which Ghost voice is better? Nolan North (Nolanbot) or Peter Dinklage (Dinklebot). The answer for me is always the same; Dinklebot was way better for the base game. Nolan North performs well as the Ghost in The Taken King, but he completely butchers the old lines.
Others talk about what actors they would like to play the Ghost. I hear a lot of people asking for Samuel L. Jackson or Morgan Freeman. But I got a better idea; it'll probably never happen, but what if it could?
[b]What if... [i]you could record your own voice for your Ghost?[/b][/i] Maybe using Kinect, it's equivalent on the PlayStation 4 (if there is one), or even your mic... assuming that's even possible, as I honestly don't know the constraints of this technology...
You could record every line of the script in your own voice, save it to your Destiny account. Improvise a little if you like, or even go completely nuts and invent your own lines; no one would be able to hear it except for you, unless your a Destiny YouTuber. Speaking of which, it would be interesting to see what some Destiny YouTubers would do with a feature like this... MoreConsole, MorningAfterKill, Patrick Casey with Planet Destiny (you have to admit his voice is sexy).
So; it'll probably never happen, but it would be awesome if it did. What do you think? Post your thoughts, share your ideas.

3 RepliesFirst let me point out that I'm not an experienced audio professional, just biding my time with freelance opportunities. 1.) this is a travesty waiting to happen. 2.) not everyone has access to a small studio setup and acoustically controlled environment to ensure a quality recording for the mix. 3.) audio engineers and sound designers at Bungie would have to find and implement a way to compress/limit your clipped-level Laptop microphone recordings to fit in the mix. 4.) nobody likes the sound of their own voice upon playback. Except for maybe a major artist/producer/engineer whom shan't be named. 5.) IMO too many people in this community are so obsessed with themselves (or should I say their guardians already), this would make a real-life intervention not only vain and redundant, but could potentially result in a home-conflict where a child screams for more money and the parent breaks his/her Xbox. (You might also have to request access to the scripts and get legal documentation granting you the ability to reuse and modify original licensed content -- I think. Not 100% sure this is the case if you aren't planning on distributing the product.)

I hate the sound of my voice. I cringe every time I hear it over someone else's mic.

They should get both and have them both tell you about the story. They would also argue with each other sometimes in the story and randomly in patrol. That would be awesome
