I have a similar issue. I'm missing the chest AND gauntlets. I know I didn't delete them either.

The chest, gauntlets, and greaves are interchangeable between characters. Only helmets are for particular classes. Check your alts first, took me a while to figure that one out. Could be helpful.

I only have one character, unfortunately. But that might be helpful for other people!
