So my buddy and I are debating about the perk. I've been on since just after the first time xur sold jellyhorn and never really ran with a gun that had triple tap until I got my hung jury. We are disagreeing on how the perk works. He thinks every third in the set magazine gives one, where I am including the ones from the perk. With extended mag, you have like 20 shots.
So in an ideal scenario you hit nothing but crits. How many do you get back?

The bullets returned to the mag count towards the triple tap bonus. It goes like this: (Assuming all bullets hit, all hits are precision hits, and you don't reload early, this is how a magazine would play out.) Starting mag size: 20 1 (19 left) 2 (18 left) 3 (+1) (18 left) 4 (17 left) 5 (16 left) 6 (+1) (16 left) 7 (15 left) 8 (14 left) 9 (+1) (14 left) 10 (13 left) 11 (12 left) 12 (+1) (12 left) 13 (11 left) 14 (10 left) 15 (+1) (10 left) 16 (9 left) 17 (8 left) 18 (+1) (8 left) 19 (7 left) 20 (6 left) 21 (+1) (6 left) 22 (5 left) 23 (4 left) 24 (+1) (4 left) 25 (3 left) 26 (2 left) 27 (+1) (2 left) 28 (1 left) 29 (No shots left) As you can see, you can get 29 shots off. That's just under 50% more bullets. If the bonus only applied to the base mag, you would max out at 33% more shots.

You are correct. The extra bullets from triggering triple tap will also go toward activating the perk. The perk also resets after every activation so it triggers once every three crits. With a 20 round magazine shot perfectly, by the time u fired 18 shots, u would have gotten 6 bonus which leaves 8 in the mag. With this 8, u would get another 2 leaving 4 in the mag and 1 more trigger during those 4 leaving 2 which won't trigger the perk again. Bold numbers above are bonus bullets. Which means u have gotten 20 normal shots and 9 bonus shots total while being able to miss 2 shots. Those 2 misses can also be anywhere in the mix as missing doesn't reset the count as long as the three crits are within a certain time.

Triple tap rapidly landing precision hits returns one round to the mag. If you hit three crit shots you get a round put in the mag. Simple.

5 RepliesEdited by Tangibility: 12/18/2015 3:08:39 AMVendor Hung Jury (extended mag) base has 20 shots. Triple tap procs 6 times (18 shots used). From that gained 6, you can proc 2 more. The last 2 rounds(from original mag) are indivisible by 3, and do not proc. You can get 28 shots off total from a very large crit chain, with allowance to miss the shot directly after a proc twice. Edit: Max is actually 29, didn't count the second sets of procs.

Divide the mag capacity by 3. Whatever the number is, that's how many extra bullets you get (rounded down to the nearest whole number, of course) if all rounds are critical hits.

1 ReplyIf you hit nothing but critical shots you can fire off up to 28 rounds I believe with the vendor Hung Jury. Great scout rifle for PvE!

3 precision shots in a certain amount of time gives one shot back

Edited by Elitespear: 12/18/2015 2:36:50 AMNo. If you get 3 precision shots in x time (not sure how long) you get 1 refunded. It doesn't have to be precision hits in a row. I can get a bodyshot between precision hits with hung jury and still get triple tap to activate. Potentially however I believe you can get 28 or 29 shots out of a mag. But if you're shooting one target 28 times with a primary, you should have probably swapped to your special or heavy.

I think it's something like 29 total if they are all crits
