Many people who play as Hunters, who couldn't play against Sunbreaker, were crying out for it to be nerfed. Now, it is that of an armored Golden Gun.
Many of these Hunters also think that Shadestep from Graviton should be granted to all subclasses. However, if we look at the description...
Unlocks the Nightstalker Subclass Shadestep node for free.
While it says "grants Shadestep", in the fine print of the description, it claims to unlock it, meaning that it only grants it for that class.
Now, moving on.
These players who run Hunters are claiming that Khepri's Sting is an example of why Shadestep should be given to all classes when Graviton is worn. Khepri's Sting is an exotic Hunter Gauntlet that grants invisibility. They are claiming that crouching in place is a perk from Bladedancer given to all classes.
This is true. However, its exotic perk is Touch of Venom, not Stalker, which I believe is the name of the perk in Bladedancer's tree.
Touch of Venom also grants Backstab, in a way. However, this is defined by its own exotic perk. In no way does it say "Grants Stalker" or something similar.
Now, moving on to Titans, their PvP history, and the fabled Twilight Garrison.
Players who run Titans have been hit hard from their liable PvP subclass, the Sunbreaker, being nerfed. Now I'm going to try to keep this as logical as possible.
The Sunbreaker was only slightly overpowered, and it was largely due to its immense explosions the hammers created.
The explosions allowed HoS to not require hitting a target to kill them. Even with the higher damage reduction they had, HoS was not impossible to kill if handled correctly.
Now let's move on.
Striker has been given a very nice PvP makeover with the return of Armamentarium, which is so goddamn hard to spell, what the hell?
They have also been given the ability to run full armor with the additional +1 armor granted by Unstoppable, and Shoulder Charge, which I believe now works in the air, is made slightly more deadly.
As if it wasn't already deadly.
Next, the fabled TG, and why it is not OP, and why it grants its exotic perk to all Titan subclasses.
I will start by saying that the Twilight Garrison's description only claims to
Press O,O or B,B to evade.
Does this say "Unlocks Evade" for Titans? I think not. It is an ability, not a perk from the perk tree.
Which, by the way, isn't given to Titans in the first place.
Finally, the Twilight Garrison, though not thought of by many...is not overpowered. The reason for this is because those videos you see of Titans running it and doing amazing with it?
How many do you see doing that in the actual game?
I'm not saying it's fake; I think these players are incredible for mastering the Tactical Air Support perk. However, my main point is that it takes a lot of skill to master this chest.
If you don't agree with that, then how about this: not everyone can be as good as those players mentioned.
Lastly, the TG is ugly as hell, so that's the ultimate reason why it's not overpowered.
I've said my fill. Away with you, Guardians...
Edit: It was also brought to my attention that the Air Evasion isn't given an "invulnerability" frame, for lack of a better word. You can still hit an evading Titan if you track their movement.
Blink and Shadestep are slightly harder to kill during their frames.
Edit 2: dragonhunter, the original owner of the Twilight Garrison, arrived.
Edit 3: So...this topic is getting popular. Must be a big debate.
Edit 4: The fake Butthurt is here...?
Edit 5: In Y1, I always thought Shoulder Charge had a shorter duration in the air than it does now.
I never used it that much, so I suppose my word isn't credible on that. Apologies, Guardians.
Edit 6: Shit...the Pig is here! Ninja vanish!
Edit 7: That one laser guy came.
Edit 8: The creator of the 12/14 to 12/18 MotW arrived.
Edit 9: The Traveler itself arrived.

7 RepliesThe evade isnt even that good, people saw that one video and bugged out, shadestep is every bit as good, blink itself is every bit as good
-
2 RepliesAm I the only one who finds it funny that the Exo Stranger just actually explained something in great detail?
-
Who even cares? Destiny has fallen so far from where it was. At this point were lucky we are getting anything. I mean come on, it's falling behind the top 10 most played charts right now, it's being streamed less than games that are years old... It's dying. Why can't people just appreciate new things and be happy. We're lucky we few hundred thousand who still play even get updates! Most any other game would have stopped trying and moved all Dev's to either the sequel or something entirely different
-
Never had problems with sunbreakers. The ONLY thing that I would've said made them overpowered was their armor/overshield when they used their super.
-
But I thought you didn't time to explain what you don't have time to explain? But in seriousness, if someone's wearing it, I just become more cautious, maybe take a step back and just be wary, it's not very hard to counter

2 RepliesThe Exo Stranger just explained something. [][][]

6 RepliesI agree for the most part. TG is not OP, but why would having the graviton forfeit work on all Hunter subclasses be a problem.
-
But isn't that the point? Why do titans get a brand new ability with an exotic equipped that doesn't even exist in any subclass.....no other class has that.....no other armor piece has that. wait....
Helm of Saint 14 does
-
5 RepliesFunny. I remember when Titans and Warlocks cried about Bladedancers in the beginning.
-
Anyone remember those warlocks out there? Stop your bickering. It's Bungie, what did you expect?
-
Not my proudest fap.

15 RepliesGraviton Forfeit - Helm of inmost light same concept. No Backup Plans calls out specifically a Titan will not get force barrier from triggering No Back UP plans unless they are running defender. Be careful what you wish for if an arc blade could shadestep it would be more powerful than the former sunbreaker and get nerfed all to hell.

Edited by KayOsS882: 12/18/2015 4:40:25 PMI don't really care what gives you what. All I want is for people to shut up and stopping whining about everything. The problem are the players, they are so used to their setups that they use the same set up for every damn map and situation for PvP. If you look at PvE, each situation, strike and raids require a different setup. Bu for some reason PvP players use the same set up on every map. They then cry foul when they get slaughtered. I don't play PvP alot because I suck but I know when to change my setup for different maps. If I'm going against mostly shotgunner, I'm going to keep my distance and use a sniper on you.

You #rekt all the huntards, thanks for that. My baby Garrison can finally relax.
I hope...
I like Twilight Garrison. I haven't had the chance to play my Titan since TK dropped, but it is certainly my kind of exotic, I just wish it took to shaders better. I love mobility in these games, which is why Bones of Eao are my favourites for Hunters. It takes work to make it work, so it's only overpowered if your talent is also overpowered. Skills nerf incoming. As for the Graviton, it is pretty shit. It's only good for combining Keen Scout with evade, for your exotic slot. It should be more versatile than that. I also remember being disappointed that the new version of Young Ahamkara's Spine didn't double all your grenades.
-
The armor isn't even OP what the hell? It's the person using the armor that is merely really good
-
Should be interesting to see the incoming buffs to each subclass moving forward, next is either Warlocks or Hunters. My take, granting shade step to the entire class would be stupid, can you imagine having shadestep and blink..OPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP Just bad verbage they put on the helmet or better yet people shouldn't read into it so much.
-
Bumping this so more Huntards will see it.
-
I swear if Huntards start whining for nerfs, even the real hunters are gonna start putting them down
-
Are the TG whiners already crying for a nerf? I've seen a few, but not many. With that video it's only a matter of time, though. It's like some people don't understand that videos like this are highlights, not endless streams of untouchable god status. These are the type of people who think Reality TV is indeed reality....
Lastly, the TG is ugly as hell, so that's the ultimate reason why it's not overpowered.
2 RepliesDon't blame hunters. I'm a hunter and I don't give a flying -blam!- about twilight garrison. By the time any Titan knows what's happening I would have blasted them out of the sky.
-
4 RepliesEdited by Ashikon: 12/18/2015 4:11:21 PMYou aren't explaining why it's overpowered. You're just explaining why Graviton won't unlock for all subclasses. The only argument you have is those people who are super good with TG aren't seen in crucible often. Also I don't want it nerfed either, just criticizing your argument.

Tl;dr

1 ReplyI don't believe Twilight Garrison is OP. But the problem with Graviton Forfeit is it grants a fairly random subclass node, while Warlocks and Titans have exotics that make part of their supers intrinsic. While Graviton Forfeit is cool, and shadestep is handy, I really don't understand what Bungie is doing. I would be fine with Sunbreaker armor, even, being as high as it was if it meant Hunters had noticeably more agility. But let's be honest, hardly any of those individual stats have mattered, and agility seems to matter the least. Hardly anyone builds for agility because it's virtually the same no matter what, and Twilight Garrison seems like it's trying to give Titans agility that they never really lacked in the first place. On top of that, Warlocks will have an exotic that improves blink. Basically, these exotics seem to negate the fact that some classes are meant to be lacking in one area, and putting them all on the same level. For example, The Ram put Warlocks on virtually the same level of armor as Titans. In a game that advertises classes as having strengths and weaknesses, this shouldn't be happening.
-
10 RepliesI won't say the Garrison is overpowered because it's not to the extent that it needs a nerf like Achlyophage Symbiote, but it definitely needs a cool down timer incredibly similar to Blink and Shadestep. Being able to fly in the air constantly is too strong for a balanced play against the other classes. If you were able to "dodge" twice in 3.5-5 seconds it'd be very well balanced, but as it is, it's too maneuverable. I wouldn't care if it was given a single frame of invulnerability either, that'd balance the use of it against a super or rocket splash damage. But as it is now, it's too easy to spam against other players and completely reverse a situation which you shouldn't be able to counter.
