So...I have this suspicion that not only is our beloved Mara Sov, the queen of the reef is alive but on the dreadnaut. It doesn't seem like she is taken, but it seems she will be taking it over after the DLC. What are guy's thoughts, many of the taken will linger for a time under the will of Oryx, but eventually they will be free, either through death or their own will. We can't destroy the ship, the cabal and hive have no leadership or communications in the system, so it would make sense for her return to also include taking the Dreadnaut as her own.

33 RepliesThe Cabal Empire is coming. Prepare yourselves.
-
6 RepliesI heard she gave up trying to take the dreadnaught because she got tired of grinding for a 320 helmet and now she's just playing fallout instead
-
If she becomes the taken queen, like Duke Nukem always says, "Damn, I'd still hit that!" XD
-
1 ReplyOther than Mara being an attractive alien chick..... Why do we even care about her? She wasn't even in her own damn dlc
-
Interesting. The Guardians did leave a vacuum. Toland chastised us for such. Well see.
-
3 RepliesMy question is how in the living hell did she manage to age backwards by like 15 years! She looks like she's 15 in TTK!
-
10 RepliesMara Sov gains control of the Dreadnaught. Prince Uldren and his Crows gain control of the Cabal bases on Mars and with the help of the Queen, push back the Vex to Venus. The Fallen Houses rally under Mara Sov, the Kell of Kells, and with the help of the Guardians, push the Vex all the way back to the Black Garden. Desperate and weak, the Vex call out to the Darkness, and the Darkness answers and imbues the greatest Vex minds with the Taken King's power. The Dark Vex and the Fallen Houses go to war, the Queen seizes the opportunity to instate a Galactic Empire in order to combat this new threat. The Queen becomes the Emperor, Yoda goes into hiding, Obi Wan has the high ground, and Anakin becomes Darth Vader.

5 RepliesYou all do realize oryx has a brother and a sister somewhere out there in space
-
5 RepliesPersonally I think the Queen is Savathun.
-
22 RepliesI never understood why bungie would skip the opportunity to make taken awoken. What's the point in oryx taking shit if he doesn't take allies
-
5 RepliesMara Sov is currently being a bottom in the Pleasure Pits in the Dreadnaught as we speak. She won't come back to the Reef until she gets the satisfaction that she seeks.
-
8 RepliesIn the grimoire card "the aftermath" it describes Uldren being stranded on Mars after the battle where the awoken were obliterated. It says he sensed something just before the shield broke his focus. After he tells the crows to help him find something. That something must be the queen so Uldren is currently looking for the queen

Eris' queen is Mara. Confirmed lore that Eris and Mara teamed up to take out Oryx. Mara said the guardian was the key, and n the ending cutscene,
"The guardian was the key."
-
1 ReplySadly this is bungie making the story. She'll probably just show up in the next dlc as if nothing happened.
-
Edited by cynicalpsycho: 12/18/2015 9:56:04 PMMara sovs story will be told a sentence at a time with each DLC drop which will abundantly make clear that the devs had and still have no idea how to implement the story and lore into the actual game....

Mara has no wish to rule the Hive. If she is still alive (which she most likely is) she's probably still operating behind the shadows with Osiris.
-
Just power down the ship and dismantle it. Done. Silly vanguards.
-
Theory = spoiler?
-
1 ReplyIf she's taken, I'm taken
-
It's not a spoiler if It's a theory
-
I'd hit it.
-
Hate to break it to you, but... She's Taken. By me. "I'd like you to meet my new girlfriend..."
-
Well according to the grimoire, her brother is alive on Mars........

It is quite possible that she was Taken. The books of sorrow do tell of another great queen who Oryx took as a means to gain control of her people and wipe them out. The question is, would a Taken Mara Sov be under the spell of Oryx now that Oryx is gone, or would she be powerful enough to take the leadership of the Taken for herself? We know that the Reef has far more knowledge of the Hive than the City considers to be perverted, it is likely that Mara would have a more instinctive grasp of the talents and ways of the darkness than any Guardian or city sheep. Prince Uldren seems to think she is still alive somehow, so this may really not be far fetched. It may even be possible that she was able to create her own "throne world" universe, or some other means to avoid death. She does express some longing for death avoidance when discussing the ownership of a ghost at one point, so this could well be something she has researched. There is absolutely no reason why she wouldn't be able to tap into the same mechanisms to avoid death that the Hive developed. All she would need is a blade forged in battle - and she seems to have done a lot of warfare, certainly enough to have built up some "sword logic" of her own.

I doubt it, due to the powers Oryx possessed that were necessary to commandeer the Dreadnaught, as it was a Worm God's skeleton.

I hope so, I am so sick of taken everywhere, give us a good Ole cabal, vex raid next dlc
