Trading paint or ramming in SLR
I had an interesting conversation with someone yesterday who accused me of 'cheating' by ramming all the time apparently. Seems like the first time im racing and there is contact and it goes in my favour im a cheat. im sure SLR was designed to be a contact race unlike other racing games.
Just wondering how aggressive other people race or if you have managed to complete a clean race?

1 ReplyIt's only a problem if you're a total dick about it. Rubbing other racers is fine, just don't do it because you think it's funny. Or do it anyway, I'll just hit the brakes and put you in the wall, whatever.

I try to avoid others but will bump back if they do it intentionally. Thing i hate is this damn peer-to-peer setup!!!! Won a race on mars and i get a freaking beaver. Granted it somehow lagged out my bounties and completed all them for me (do 10 bounties was completed in 2 lol) but still didnt get mah rewards. Bungie is so cheap ffs

I don't race aggressively and I don't try to run people off the course but if we're both going for a gate, I'm not gonna avoid it just to let you get through it clean. I'm pretty sure it was referred to as a 'deathrace" somewhere and you can't have a deathrace without a little rubbin' And rubbin' son, is racin'

I love aggressive racing. Take the contact and keep moving. So much enjoyment when you see a dude fly smack into wall for being a ass hole trying to ram lol.

6 RepliesI like when everybody is ramming. I stay right behind them and pass everyone on the first tight turn. Stay in first the rest of the race. Simple.

I have completed like maybe 10 clean races. You have to get first off the first turn or you are doomed.

I don't mind being rammed one bit, and I'll shove back. It's all part of the game. When people ram you and screw you both over, however, then that's what will piss me off. Nothing like being T-boned off an edge on that Venus track

Had a perfect bump last night - entering a tunnel gave a guy a little love tap & he ran right into the wall. It's part of the game - I get bumped & give it back just as much.

I try to stay out of the way now that I'm rank 3. Sometimes jackasses go out of their way to harass you, that happens game on, momentum master is a tank not many sparrows more grounded. I've completed my 3rd. Place bounties, I'll hit brakes at finish maybe help someone get theirs.

I got tired of being torpedoed, etc so now if I have a side boost & someone is locked with me I will boost them into a rock, fan blade or anything else I can. They can like it or lump. of course it doesn't work real great but good enough.

I do my best to race clean. I do not intentionally hit people. But sometimes it cannot be helped. If you want to hit a gate, sometimes that means pushing someone out of the way.

I run around 6th place till last lap then I make my move to first checkers or wreckers...I will put you in a wall an laugh at your destroyed sparrow on my way to the finish line

Other players should be transparent. Nothing wrong with a little rubbing, but sometimes you get those trolls who just try to run people off the track.

Edited by KidSixXx: 12/15/2015 5:00:24 PMRubbin' is racin'. You did nothing wrong. I try not to bump other racers because game physics is all wonky. SRL has probably shed a lot of unwanted light on the fact that the devs did not originally design Sparrows for racing.

I used to get annoyed at this, but soon realised they come off worse most times. The amount of times someone has tried to bump me out of a gate and I see them miss it as well is funny. I've finished my S Licence so I'm pulling over if I'm leading now and let 2nd into 1st just in case they are trying to get wins.
