No Iron Banner During SRL
So bungie has recently announced that we will not see iron banner until after the sparrow racing event. I wanted to get everyone's thoughts on this.
Please vote and give a comment if you want.
I personally am disappointed. I enjoy iron banner and it's one of the few times I'll spend playing mostly PvP. Sparrow racing is too bland (especially with only 2 maps)

I, like you, play mostly PvP during IB. I am not too upset, though. This is the year of Holiday events and SRL is their event for the season. Combine that with me being old with work and an extended family I am very busy right now. SRL is long enough for me to still enjoy without eating into my responsibilities for the season. Destiny is an active testing ground. I'll get over it.

Very good idea. I think a lot of people are sparrow racing in that shrinks the pool of people in iron banner. Fewer people means longer distances and more lag.

Sick of srl already. It's not a race, it's a demolition derby where players who can't ride a sparrow to save their life just keep ramming until the better racer until destiny's messed up physics sends them flying off the track. If these players couldn't ram, they would be eating the dust of those of us who have some skill on the track.

1 ReplyThis is an FPS game and sparrow racing is a nice feature/distraction, but when it delays much-anticipated FPS content, that is just a crock of chit IMO! Why wait until the day we expect it to tell us it is not coming? Some people plan there family and work schedules to afford extra time during IB and now they are all blamed by the last minute announcement! Get your chit together Bungie!

8 RepliesI think they should over lap. Why not implement a buff that after you complete 5 races you get increased rep rewarded for your next 3 iron banner wins (50%). This would keep steady traffic in both activities.

I agree with Bungie's decision for two reasons: 1. I of course would have prioritized IB over SRL, which is probably why they chose not to host IB during the event. 2. I would miss IB due to the holidays. The postponement saves me and my helmets to be.

7 RepliesIn the past we have had to wait as long as about 7 weeks between Iron Banner events. I am fine with waiting until January. The longer wait allows more time to raise light level (as recently recommended by Bungie) and increase my inventory.

Multiple events to play at once? That sounds too much like fun. You might have to actually make a choice about which activity to do over the weekend, and who wants that? Variety sucks.
