4 RepliesI like the leveling system, it's the loot system that sucks.
-
Cloaks and ghost shells shouldn't affect light, but it's fine as it is.
-
5 RepliesOne problem: CLASS ITEMS AND GHOST SHELLS SHOULD NOT AFFECT LIGHT LEVELS! Some people still want to wear the starter hunter cloak!
-
I think armor should be the only thing affecting light level
-
I do. I prefer house of wolves leveling for sure. I think infusion a crap. It's a good idea, but they implemented it horribly
-
No,i do too because it was less grindie

HoW with Etheric Light was the best. Old gear became relevant, you could customise your stat builds the way the way you wanted as well as mix and match old to new PvE and PvP acquired gear.
-
The old level systems sucked, too. HoW was only better, but it wasn't good. The problem with HoW was that it gauranteed you max level for little afford. This had the problem that it didn't feel any special to get there, and after you did, there wasn't much left to do. I think the current level system is very good in theory and many other MMO's use it successfully.. The only thing that make it suck is the weekly reset shit. I would have no problem with beating oryx hard 50 times to get my items, but would do it much rather at my own pace. If there was no weekly reset (like in most MMO's that use this kind of grind), it would feel much more rewarding to get to max level, too. Because obviously the guy who raids the most and do it fastest will also hit max level earlier. This is what gives you the competition feeling in other MMOs. Right now everyone does the same thing to hit max level: 1. raid every week 3 times with all chars. 2. hope for rng to bless you for this week. 3. wait a week and repeat. Do you feel special doing this? I sure don't.

I really dislike the current system, as it punishes me for wanting to try different weapons. Now you need a legendary to drop with the right perks and also infuse it if you want to actually use it. Because of this i vary much less with weapons now than i did before. Having just armor affect level was great. I don't swap armor as much. Guns should've just been on same levels though. Also the ghosts and mark shouldn't affect anything. I want to run around with the VoG titan mark and a pink ghost. I don't like bungie deciding for me that i can't.
-
Nope, this way makes sense. Collecting specific Materials and only being able to fully level Raid Gear was a pain (I'm talking Pre-HoW). With this system its way more appealing to those who wise to look different gear wise!

4 RepliesEdited by OverStrezzed: 12/14/2015 11:45:55 PMit's technically the same. It just measures attack and defense with a higher light level cap

I do too.

You're not the only one.

#Forever29
Well, that never happened to me, I hit 30 pretty quick. I could imagine that sucked though!
-
I preferred the old one, especially the HoW era where raids were relevant and you had many paths to 34.
-
Hate the new one

1 ReplyJust wish you could see people's light level without having to inspect them...level 40 means nothing, think they should swap the 40 for your light level
-
I prefer this one. I enjoy the neverending grind. There literally is always something to do in Destiny especially when running three toons.
-
I think it's the same just more grind but 40 is the new 20
-
Probably not, but i definetley prefer the new leveling system, i'd hate to look like every other guy who is high level, with the only slight diffrence being the choice of shader and exotic. That's the main reason i'm not such a huge fan of the raids.
-
Bungie have messed up in a big way with the new system. The RNG of the loot system ruins any chance of the levelling system ever working for most people.
-
No. New system is terrible.
