Am I the only one who prefers the old levelling system?

Yes, I love how not having certain boots meant that I would be a detriment to a raid group. Gotta love the old leveling system. *heavy sarcasm*

No light lvl is the way to go. Could you imagine! We could all be wearing anything we want.

I definitely miss the being able to simply get the gear and get the light level associated with the gear. Making it so you can get a range of light levels is utter garbage only intended to string people along longer. I actually enjoyed being able to get to the max light level, sit back and take a break from destiny and come back when new content arrived. Now bungie is treating it like a damn sin if your not constantly playing the game.

Infusion is good, except their shouldn't be light attached to class items, artifacts, and ghosts.

I miss it. Now I have to use the same load out 24 / 7 and gear ): and I can't wear something like the first cloak you start off with because of light

I love the old system that's all I got all 3 of my guardians level to 34 last sept 15th :)

1 ReplyI dont miss it honestly. I think the Fusion system is a very elegant and way more better option then Etheric Light was. Reforging was dumb since it completely removed the importance of legendary items loot. Now Iam always thrilled to see what the Hawksaw, 1000 Yard or Eyasluna has when I see it pop up in the reward screen.

You mean when I could wear the armour I wanted without needing to grind for another piece of armour that is one point higher? Yeah. I miss that.

Gear is still the thing that changes the important levelling system(Light level), check. Completing end game raids/PvP events is still the only way to hit max level, check. Only now hitting max level is the only reason to complete the raid because the rewards for completing it suck monkey ballz. Nothing has actually changed.

No you not. I haven't been able to do normal raid or anything, because I don't have the light, or guns. All these specifics on these post are intimidating, So I gave up on level up.

17 RepliesThe old system was so garbage. People who like the old system are just to lazy to run multiple raids. Put some actual effort into getting mad light. The new system is also ALOT more rewarding. Back when it was the old way, everyone was level 34. How many 320s do you see? Not very many.

Old leveling was torture for me. I mostly played PVP back then and the drops were non existent

It's the same leveling system. The 40 is just kinda there. Because the 300ish light level is the same thing as your old level aside from the fact that you have to raise it with all of your hear instead of just armor.

1 ReplyEtheric light = maxed equipment. Current system = RNG chance of equipment that may be fractionally better than you have (and usually not). Repeat absurd number of times to get 320. How many 320 items do you need to take a 280 exotic to 320? Do that math and you realize how good etheric light was.
