I too prefer the old levelling system. Light level progression and infusion made the game worse, IMO.

10 RepliesI think this is much more fair. You pretty much earn your rank. I like the light level system too. They pretty much combined both styles of leveling. Rank up by killing stuff and doing bounties Have a high light level by doing the raid and praying rng is on your side that day
-
1 ReplyThere are some aspects I preferred. For example, if you got a raid drop before, it had the potential to reach max level and the weapons and class items had nothing to do with light. The new system enables us to use any gear at max level effectively, but the etheric just did that as well... What I like with the new system is that upgrading stuff is way less tedious.

No I lobed the old system at least when.I got an item it was upgradeable to the max level not rng level
-
I liked old

So much better, class items didn't affect your level, you didn't have to worry about raid drops having less defense than your current gear (unless ur doing a past raid), the good ol days.

3 Repliesetheric light was the worst decision Bungie ever made - i almost quit the game, took two months off. So God awful.

Yes you are

Probably not

1 ReplyHate the current system raiding is some of the most boring thing to me I did the raid once so I could at least do damage in trials I perfer the old leveling system way more

Agreed! 100%

Well..... figures an ancient warmind likes the old fashioned way of doing things.... anyway, i agree. I miss the old system. This light level BS cranked the grind up to 11. The old system you knew where the best weapons and armor were, not with this system. You know where they are, but you don't know IF you'll get it.
-
5 RepliesYou aren't. This system is needlesly complicated. But in my opinion Bungie added this so people will have to grind their balls off to get to max.
-
The new system caters towards a certain type of player and weeds out the rest of the community in a bad way. Each week there is no guarantee that a player will move up in light level do to the broken loot system. I don't expect to get 310+ drops every time but it is a big let down to run a raid and not get a single piece of gear that is higher than 300. The goal was to slow progress with the new system but hitting a wall and not being able to move forward ruins the user experience.

You mean the one we're you couldn't buy every character lvl 25? As was announced today
-
I do. Also, why are you so strong? You took 3 bullets to the chest, approx 50 ml of poison, and a river and then died cause you couldn't swim?
-
I don't mind changing from light req to level 40. But ffs leave the gear out of the level.
-
Me to

I used to, got used to this one now, i dont really care about being max level so as long as i do trials and get 300+ and the raid and get 310+ i dont care, so i like it

I liked the Etheric Light system better

Yes, I love how not having certain boots meant that I would be a detriment to a raid group. Gotta love the old leveling system. *heavy sarcasm*
