Don't know how to counter it / What's Res Sniping?

So I was playing Trials. Of course a big part of Trials of Osiris is the revives, strategies, and sniping, especially res sniping. Res sniping is the action of as soon as a enemy is revived, a perfectly timed headshot can shut them down. Now I started thinking about this along with the numerous "Snipers need to be looked at" fourm posts along with a few conversations with friends and LFG people. Of course people complain and asks for nerfs and such, but is res sniping really a problem, or is it the community failing to counter this, also failing to counter shotguns. Their are ways to counter this, such as taking a body shot or moving the ressed body. Now of course people will bïtch about res sniping, but with recent patches with shotguns and pulse rifles, can res sniping be removed? One of these options actually answers that (Nerf precision damage but buff PvE damage) but I want to know what the community thinks. Is Res Sniping a problem, or not?

  • Many people will say that it isn't a problem and that you're just a noob if you get res-sniped. But it's not about how good you are in pvp. In this game there is always a counter to different types of weapons. Such as shotguns make quick work of snipers up close or handcannons tend to stagger opponents more, making the task of keeping automatic fire on target a very difficult one. The main problem here is that there is no counter to res-sniping, you're just left completely helpless. No matter how skilled you are, you won't live from a sniper shot to the head, plain and simple as that. It's definitely something that needs to be fixed and I've noticed minor tweaks to it but it still needs more work.

  • It's not a problem. You can also kill someone off a res with a shotgun. If you can't instantly punish stupid revives dying becomes an advantage to your team. Oh you just ran in to 3 people like a headless chicken and died making it 2v3? Lets run past you with a revive helmet holding square and make it 3v3 with us having immunity for a bit and overshields after. Make sure a revive is safe before you revive. Just because you're able to revive a teammate doesnt mean you should do it. If youd ask me overshields and immunity should be removed from reviving as well making it easier to punish dumb revives with other guns.

  • I think the res overshield should not have a crit modifier. I mean really... The dead player's ghost shows you where to fix your crosshairs for res-sniping.. Atleast make the ghost bobble and sway so the headshots aren't a completely free gift to the sniper..

  • Well you get punished by res-sniping if you die..don't die. Also, it's quite easy to push after a revive which ensures that they can't res-snipe you so it can actually be avoided really easily.
