In any racing series, there are penalties for certain actions. The only penalty SRL needs at the moment is a speed reduction penalty for anyone that activates the move side to side ability of the sparrow and immediately collides with another player. This is a dirty passing move and they should not be able to get away with it. So a speed reduction would be a good way to promote fair racing, with clean passes.
If you are going to comment on this and tell me I'm a scrub, get a life because you are probably one of the people this post is about. I am a die hard racer and I believe in clean sportsman racing.
EDIT: There is a difference from being bumped by someone and having them use the lateral movement buttons to push you out of the way. I understand bumping g each other will happen, however being forcefully pushed out with the lateral movement ability is not just a bump, that's a dirty pass.

Except: A) you do lose of bit of speed when you make contact with other players B) Bungie encouraged pushing in the SRL update. Get over it. C) Stop crying. "Nerf the nudge in SRL"

If you ain't rubbing you ain't racin
-
Your mom's a dirty pass.

I find if I focus on my race, I do just fine. Top 3 last 8 of 9 races. That bump nonsense isnt happening in the top 3

Edited by Force58: 12/14/2015 5:28:55 PMDirty passing!!!!!! I responded to this yesterday but every time I see it gets me more pissed off. I hope you enjoyed the responses you got. A racing add-on that's set in a violent universe with the goal being to be in first place at the end...and you're complaining about being bumped. I don't care about your definition of "bumped". It's a timed event that YOU don't have to participate in if you're so worried about being touched. You're the reason Bungie keeps making stupid assed changes to this game. I hope you're once again a very happy person. And oh by the way, this ISN'T a RACING GAME, its a FPS that has a racing add-on. Go play Forza if you want to play racing games that penalize you so damn bad!!!!!!

I push people all day with my side boosts, it's the only effective way to collect their salt.

1 ReplyYou have summoned me!!

If you're not trading paint, you're not trying.

Sorry, it isn't just hitting the bumper that causes that. Hitting a boost at the right/angle will do the same thing, as will grinding the back bumper of the sparrow in front of you. Collision detection is a bit to high right now. Even invisible rocks seem to be scattered around the racetrack.

This isn't iRacing

Umm? No

Wow all you guys trying to defend your dirty racing tactics pretty sad

Rubbin's racin son

4 RepliesI feel like anyone who complains about 'cheap' and 'unsporting' play during SRL, hasn't played Mario Kart.

Death race is the meaning of SRL! In this race, there's no such thing as clean racing. It annoys me too but the best option is get a fast sparrow and keep hitting those gates. Or keep honking the horn until it pisses someone off.
-
The more of these post I see the more I want spam my bumpers.
-
I'm surprised they haven't let us shoot people, or hit them like in road rash!!! I don't know how to bump, but it's a pvp event, like love and war, everything is fair!
-
That's what makes it competitive...
-
No mercy....isn't this what Shaxx always tells us? This is the crucible after all

Edited by zKnuckleS: 12/14/2015 4:59:13 PMI'm gonna ride you right into a wall. Cause of your whiny nature.

It's a video game. This world is full of -blam!-tards.
-
It's a game...
-
This is not a hard core racing sim. It's a online fps that now has a racing mode.
-
Sore loser. Everybody is fighting for the same little gates. If you're in my way, I'm not going to politely let you pass... You're a race fan? Of what? Baton racing?
-
Edited by Thrak360: 12/14/2015 5:02:15 PMPetition denied. This racing mode is designed encourage contact. The placement of the narrow boost gates ensures that racers will have to battle for position. Don't like it? Go on LFG and find other like-minded racers who will play "nice".

It's essentially crucible on sparrows. Get over it
