The most positive surprise about the game. I was really worried there wouldn't even be corpses around. But the ODSTs even commented the Elite corpses. Brilliant. But easter eggs? I think I saw them in lots of places.
-
I found one who was dual wielding swords.
-
There are a bunch of Dead Elites strewn about the city. Some of them are in back alleys with grenades nearby. I even once found a Dead Elite near a Marine and a Shotgun (dead marine). There's a place where a couple Engineers patrol over some dead Elites in some kind of courtyard. Just keep your eyes peeled. They are literally everywhere.
-
no they were right the elites are dead because of the brutes, because when you find them buck says to dare that it looks like a giant family feud. and she responds with that classified. chief had nothing to do with those dead elites.
Posted by: DarthLurtz1 Considering that Buck asks Dare what is with all the dead Elites, I'm fairly sure it's not an easter egg.
when was this?
Posted by: Puppy Poopie In halo 3, master cheif and the humans form an alliance with the elites. The elites + UNSC are working together although its classified to standard troops. Im guessing elites are trying to take back the city as well. Also there are alot of references to Halo Reach and people say that "OMG its just like halo reach" which makes me think, halo reach occured just after halo 3, then ODST is alittle futher along the timeline.
...You make me want to cry. Yes. But no, the elites are dead because the Chief killed them in Halo 2 Yes, that's because they know it's the end, "Just like Reach". No - Halo Reach was BEFORE Halo CE Just after Halo 3, is nothing. The fight's finished, game over. ODST is before Halo 3... During Halo 2. I really hope you're not trying to look like an idiot.

The new game, Halo: Reach will most likely deal with the events in the book.
-
Yeah, Reach was before. Reach was where it all began, where the SPARTANS where born, and trained. It was heavily defended, but fell, and glassed. UNSC took ALOT of casualties..
-
But, What I think was kinda an easter egg was a particular building you see in Mombasa. The company building; "Jotun." Jotun was the farming company stationed on Harvest, which was run by a UNSC Ai, who ultimately saved MANY lives.

No, you've got your timeline all wacked up. Reach was just before Halo C.E., and ODST Occurs during Halo 2.
Posted by: Mini Laze Easter Egg fail.
Hey, its my second day of ODST and i hadnt heard of elites in the city before, it may be a fail but i thought i was on to something here
-
halo reach occured before halo combat evolved
-
They say this takes place between Halo 2, and 3, but I think it takes place more on the Halo 2 side of the spectrum.
-
There are tons of dead elites around New Mombassa, usually lying where there looked like they had a rather violent scuffle with some Brutes.
-
Easter Egg fail.
-
i've seen dead elites all over the place, they aren't really rare to find, but it is kind of cool to see them.
-
I found one on Plaza level, I took screenies thinknig it was an easter egg remembering Something about Bungie saying there wont be elites in ODST, but Story wise it makes sence to have them, Dead or otherwise.

It's not an Easter egg, but rather a BIG part of the Halo story. The battle for earth was the changing point of who ran the covenant ranks. the prophet of truth ordered the switch of power from Elites, to Brutes while they where in New Mombasa. And obviously that didn't end well. And thus the covenant civil war began, which I believe was evident all across Halo 2. [Edited on 09.25.2009 10:13 AM PDT]

There's 2 dead elites near an audio log hidden behind a security door.
-
well, has anyone else found any other elites? EDIT: sorry double post [Edited on 09.25.2009 10:06 AM PDT]
-
sorry i missed that part, i just thought it was rare to see elites in this game
-
Considering that Buck asks Dare what is with all the dead Elites, I'm fairly sure it's not an easter egg.
-
I think it's more canon than easter.
