I've been asking myself this question lately, and since I've never had a near death experience, I can't really answer it.

9 RepliesYes because it is your brain's last ditch attempt to find useful information that might help save you. Certain things, like drowning, you won't find a good way out of so your brain will sift a lot of memories in a short space of time. People have recalled documentaries they half watched twenty years ago that have helped them out of animal attacks and things like that.
