Do the Brutes have shields?
Ok, this might be old news and I might be living under a rock, but it appears that the Brutes in ODST have shields which they don't have in Halo 3.
I was just wondering if they do now or if it's just something else.

Brutes did not have shields, hell they barely had armor. They looked like Chewbacca, sporting a bandolier. They also wore crude helmets and some of them wore flags or a piece of shoulder armor. The only armor that came off was their helmet after a few headshots. And before you bring it up, Tartarus doesn't count. And that wasn't really a shield anyway, it was invincibility. In Halo 3, they also didn't have shields. They had power armor. Armor that didn't regenerate. In ODST, Brutes have shields just like Elites, AND they also have their armor from Halo 3. The shields also seem to regenerate, but they seem to go down a lot faster than Elite shields. Not to mention once the shields and armor overload, they stay that way.

They were more like bullet sponges due to being thrown into the game late.

wtf? Brutes NEVER had shields. They had armour, their stuff doesnt regenerate, when you shoot them in ODST, their armour weakens, i havnt noticed it recharge. They look the same as in halo 3. =S

There is no ODST multiplayer, just Halo 3.

Brutes may have had shields in Halo 3, but they sure didn't have regenerating shields. In ODST Brute shields regenerate unless you remove their armor. Makes plasma pistols even more useful.

Seeing as this will be locked soon, can i ask a quick unrelated question? (I can't make my own topic, new user thingy) Can you play as an elite in ODST multilayer? i googled and i didn't get an answer.

They did have shields in Halo 3.
