Can we Hijack wraiths in firefight?
I'm just curious I boarded one and beat it down however I'm pretty sure it died in less punched than Halo 3, is it possible or did I just screw up?

You can't hijack them but you can quickly ride in them.

Hijacking a wraith doesnt help. Yes u got huge firepower but with slow mobility u get stuck or hit by fuel rods etc. Especially when catch is on. When blackeye is on the driver almost alwats dies as he cant get out of the wraith

I've been trying this for a while trying to get a vidmaster achievement. the one where you need to get past 4 rounds or something like that. I tried on easy by myself (cause my friend won't listen to me) and I found that you really can't "hijack" them. you can use some sort of cheat, according to a few people, but when it comes down to it, that's not really in the spirit of the game. yeah, it'll get you points out the wazoo, and you'll probably get you're achievements, but it won't have that same "holy cow!" feeling when you finally unlock it. however, it is possible to hijack wraiths in halo 3. I recently got a 360 and picked up the game (I haven't played any other halo games besides 3 and odst) and I have taken them as a fluke after killing the driver. what I THINK I did those two times was manage to hit the driver though the plating everyone says to knock off. after he died it didn't blow up and you could board it. this is very difficult to do though (and it deserves to be a vidmaster challenge or something for halo reach) and in general NEVER worth the frustration. if by some act of the bungie gods you manage to pull it off it's definitely something you should record and study (then post so we all know exactly how to do it).

You can hijack a wraith in ODST i tried it! 1-Beat up the -blam!- pit 2-Croutch NEXT to the -blam!- pit so it doesnt say "Hold RB" and what not 3-Have a friend constantly shoot it with over charged plasmas (or yoursef) 4-Keep on holding RB without getting on it 5-Shoot and kill the brute with a headshot (I prefer carbine) 6-You should be able to get in it once the brute is dead If you get out it will ASPLODE!!

Yes you can, its exactly the same as high jacking an AA wraith in Halo 3. You can also high jack banshees with same method. It requires a slightly different tactic because its a different vehicle, but its the same idea.

You use the same method you use to hijack an AA wraith. You may need to get on the wraith and melee the cover off though since a normal melee wont damage it.

The glitch used on the AA Wraith in Halo 3 works for Wraiths in ODST. This can be useful because many levels have Wraiths that blow up automatically when the drive is killed and all Firefight missions have this mechanic too.

Yes you can. I hijacked a wraith in firefight on lost platoon for the 200k achievement. You hijack them the same way in halo 3 by standing in a spot where "press b to board" does not show up and shooting the driver in the head with a carbine when his shields are gone. There is another method I learned to hijack a wraith in Halo 3 ODST. You board the vehicle, beat it 4 times so that the driver's door comes off, knock the brutes armor and shields off, crouch in a spot where "press b to board" does not show up, hold down b, and instead of shooting, beat down the driver in the head. (I use bumper jumper so your button configuration may vary.) There are also several videos on youtube demonstrating how to do this. [Edited on 11.10.2009 4:31 PM PST]

Dude are you serious? I hijack an AA wraith every single time i play a level that has one on campaign. Even though ive never managed to successfully take one in odst, i know it can be done cause i do the same thing i do in halo 3 and my guy gets in but for some reason it blows up on me the second i do. if you have ever done the AA wraith glitch than its the same concept of getting in it. but you have to use a sniper and a plasma pistol.

Actually you [i]can[/i] get into the wraith in odst. Kill the turret gunner, have a friend plasma pistol it so it doesn't move around, melee the hatch off and kill the brute inside. You have to be crouching in a way so that it doesn't say board and for a split second it will say drive just hold rb and there you go. RossterTeeth made a youtube video on it.

i assume bungie though if you actually got in the wraith them you might aswell be invinsable (except against hunters for obvious resons) so they dont let you get in one. but just board it.

Halo 3, you punch it until it falls to the ground but 1 more punch and it blows up. If you do it untill it falls to the ground you can get in it. ODST, it is the sam method as jacking a AA wraith in Halo 3, watch a vid on youtube about it.
