The Darkest Light, A Destiny Fanfiction

Hello all! After being encouraged by a friend I’ve decided to finally put this story up for others to read. I love feedback so I hope you enjoy your read! If you’d like me to continue, then please let me know. Our story follows the adventures of 3 guardians and their adventures around the galaxy battling the darkness. Here are the 3 guardians I hope you’ll come to love! Helios Brennen: A powerful Sunsinger known around the city for his generosity and bravery. Markus Tintreach: A Stormcaller that spends more time attempting to utilize his powers in new ways. Elly Alexandric: A Defender who spends more time keeping her team alive than anything else. Without further ado, we begin this tale in the Cosmodrome where we find our 3 guardians finishing up a bounty… “You sure we only have to scout this area? No fighting or anything?” Markus asked as he checked around the small room. “I’m positive. They only asked to take some quick images and then report back to the Vanguard when finished.” Helios said holding his ghost out. The ghost whizzed about the room grabbing a good number of pictures before quickly returning to Helios. “See? We’re done now.” “No we aren’t fellas.” Elly snapped as she pointed to the entering Vandal. She turned around to Markus and said “What did you do this time?” “Now why would you insinuate that it was my fault?” Markus replied with a snort. “Because it’s holding one of your doo-dad gadgets.” “Heheh, ohh.” Markus shrugged and gave a grin. Helios stepped forward and aimed his hand cannon at the Vandal. “You’ll explain it later Markus. Right now, let’s just clean this up and head back to the tower.” Helios fired three shots and killed each of the Vandals instantly. As the last Vandal fell a bright light shinned from its corpse. Helios walked over to the body and slowly moved it to the side. That light was an Engram. An Exotic Engram. “WOW!” Elly exclaimed. “An Exotic! Helios you struck huge! I wonder what you got!” “Whatever it is, I don’t want it.” Helios said as he turned and tossed the Engram to Markus. “You might need this whatever it is. Your scout rifle is falling apart and won’t hold up much longer.” Markus stood wrapped in a bit of shock before he exclaimed “W-wait a-are you sure?!” “I’m sure. After we hand these pictures over to the Vanguard we can ask Rahool to take a look at it.” “Can we grab a bite to eat before that?” Elly chimed in. “Its noon and we still haven’t had breakfast!” A small growl let out from Markus as he held his stomach. “I second that idea!” Helios chuckled. “Sure, why not? We have a long day ahead of us anyway.” Markus rushed to the exit and shouted “Last one back buys the food!” “Markus you couldn’t afford a glove let alone a sandwich. You sure you’re up for this again?” Elly retorted. In the distance you could hear Markus yelling “Can’t hear you I’m in the lead!” Elly chuckled and turned to Helios who was now walking back towards the room. “You coming Helios?” “I’ll catch up with you two later. I want to check on something before I head back.” Helios continued to walk into the darkness of the room before calling back “Order me a hot tea please. I’ll cover the expenses today.” Elly shrugged. “Alright, same as always it is.” She turned to the door and cupped a hand to her mouth and yelled “Yah hear that Markus?! Helios is funding our feast today!” Markus could be heard faintly in the distance screaming in excitement. Elly laughed and began running towards Markus. A Titan would never lose to a Warlock after all. Helios chuckled a bit before turning back towards a shadow in the corner. The room began to warm up a bit. Helios wasn't alone in the room. “So you’re here Helios.” A voice called from the shadows. “You said you could help me. What is this about?” Helios sternly let out. The voice chuckled and replied “I only wish to make the mighty Helios into the hero he is meant to be. It is true that I can grant you unimaginable power but I require only one thing.” “And what would that be?” The voice began to laugh in a distorted manner and Helios’ left hand began to glow. It was being burned. Helios let out a small grunt while restraining his arm. “What is this?!” Helios exclaimed as the burning began to diminish. In the fading glow a symbol resembling the sun was branded into Helios’ palm. “It is my gift to you Helios. This mark will grant you power Helios.” “What do you want for this in exchange then?” Helios asked. “Don’t worry Helios, you’ll pay me back all in due time. For now, I would recommend you go enjoy your meal with your friends. You’ll want to be in a good mood before tonight.” The shadow disappeared from the room and a slight chill filled the air. Helios looked at his palm. He couldn’t tell Markus and Elly about this. They would worry and wouldn’t understand. For now he would hide it. Helios began to leave the room but still a thought lingered through his mind. What was going to happen tonight? And why did he need to be happy for it? Helios’ stomach let out a small rumble. Turns out he was a tad bit hungry as well. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That's it for now, I'll probably just keep throwing these out but if you like it, don't be afraid to show a little love! A/N: If you came here from Snarkii-Senpai's "The Lives of Three Classes" and you're hungry for more of this. There are more chapters up.
