Everyone is expecting the MIDA to be the new Go-To PvP weapon.
Everyone expects it to be Overpowered, or perform better than most.
However.... It won't.
Here's the interesting thing about the MIDA.
I have been desiring it since Day One and using it since Xûr sold it the Second time.
I have over 22000 kills with this gun.
I almost never again played with another Primary in PvE since I bought it, even during Elemental Burn Nightfalls.
And because of that, I tell you:
The MIDA isn't overpowered, simply because it's the most well-rounded and balanced Exotic in the game.
Both Lore-Wise and in actual Gameplay, the MIDA is a perfectly balanced weapon, and rightfully feels like so.
The Impact and RoF can be found in pretty much any other Scout Rifle.
The Range is rather okay.
The Stability is tolerable.
The Reload speed is fast.
The Exotic Perk is simple, direct and yet powerful.
There is quite literally Nothing outstanding about this gun, and that's why it is outstanding.
It's balance is unmatched, and thus, the Player Skill is the deciding factor on wether it will be a Beast or a Dunce.
So before someone calls for a Nerf, know this:
If you got killed by it, there are two reasons:
A) You messed up and deserved it.
B) Your opponent was very skilled and surpassed you.

3 RepliesMida is the best primary to counter snipers with. U will see an uptick in its use since snipers have become more popular.
-
5 RepliesI really don't understand what all the hype was about. Everyone was like " OMG MIDA IS BACK, THAT WAS MY FAV YEAR ONE EXOTIC" Yet I almost never saw anyone use it in year one...
-
29 RepliesYeeaa....except that it has 90% aim assist. i.e., the gun literally gives you headshots. There are videos out there on youtube showing bullets curve like crazy with the MIDA, bullets that on any other scout rifle would miss. No, the MIDA does not take skill to use.
-
So since hand cannons can't snipe you across the map anymore *cough* TLW... (Yeah.. remember that sh!t) most players are looking forward to Mida because 1 body shot sniper + Mida = Death. Welcome to the new meta.

1 ReplyEdited by Swiftlock: 12/11/2015 3:27:22 PMThe real reason is that scout rifles have yet to be overly tainted by Bungie's weapon adjustments.

Someone starts thread about how great byronic hero hc is super op People jump on band wagon and everyone uses byronic hero for 2 weeks Everyone is getting wrecked by byronic hero (because everyone is using same gun) This gun must be op because i keep dying to it People start screaming that it needs a nerf, that it rules the crucible, byronic hero is the new meta This is basically what's happening Only difference is that Mida is actually a decent, well rounded scout rifle and not garbage lol

Fox News is fair and balanced in the same way that Obama's a Muslim

Agreed

*frightens thread*

C) It has 90 aim assist You forgot that one
-
I just hope Bungie doesn't look at their "analytics" and see the flux of players using MIDA as a reason to nerf it. If they nerf MIDA, I quit this game entirely.
-
2 RepliesIt is only good if you have good aim!

Another One - DJ Khaled

7 RepliesThe aim assist is the unbalanced part.

THANK YOU FELLOW MIDA MAN!!!!!!
-
i used to use it for PvP but we played trials yesterday and lots of folks were using it. however we wrecked them everytime. a few teams had full midas all around. you got to be on head point to make a difference or ill getcha.
-
Combined with dance machines it destroys pulse rifle users as they will struggle to land a full burst cobaistantly
-
4 RepliesIts not really a skill gun lmao. Just pull trigger and shoot a few times. Just not ment for some people though.

agreed

1 ReplyBump, it's great because it's balanced, and it's perk helps if you have low agility
Warlocks, with your glide, I feel bad. So slow.
Beware of nights talkers when they have this weapon.

No, the weapon is not OP, but it is my all time favorite gun. I can't wait to get it back in year 2.

Problem is but Bungie has a habit of nerfing whatever is popular
