Cash was never tied to those. This is actually theft and punishable by law if they chose to take it that far. Everyone is well aware that it's content worth $10 that they are willingly exploiting. That's stealing $10 and every person is doing it.

You must be new, things depreciate in value over time. That's why you can get games for $20 now rather than the $50 original retail price. It's really no surprise that they get a cheaper version. You could've just bought the expansion alone as well while they had to have the full buy in. MMO's, or really anything with an expansion of any kind like red dead redemption got bundled, tend to offer more content for less price. Go buy a copy of World of Warcraft up to the current and it's like $20.
