Confirmed strat: use all 6 orbs everytime. Need to be a different gaze holder each orb.
Rewards: 320 artifact, new fragment, new sexy emblem and random 320 from golg's drop pool. Ex chest or arms
In this spoiler is an in-depth guide(i hid it because i dont want ppl to have to scrool tru it everytime)
[spoiler]you have to use all bubbles and have 1 new person doing gaze per bubble. If you use all bubbles everybody needs to know how to do gaze. But if you kill him in say 4 bubbles you only need to use 4 bubbles and only 4 ppl need to know how to do gaze. You cant loose the gaze.[/spoiler]

U can do it with 1 orb not all orbs have to be used just u need all players to get the gaze each damage phase.

But if you use a 1 orb strategy, all 6 people need to take the gaze during that one damage phase. Easiest way is to have player 1 take gaze, then player 2,3,4,5 and on player 6, thats when you bust the orb and do dps. Rinse and repeat.

Seems like it would be cleaner to just clear adds, pass the gaze back and forth, then on 6th gaze grab it, drop orb, everyone dps Golg, jump out and repeat. It might be easier for people to do all the gaze passing up front (no need to jump down then jump up etc. and then it just turns into 1-orb).

Can't you just have everybody juggle the gaze before dropping the first orb and then when the last person get's the gaze you DPS for that one orb then rinse and repeat?

I might not have time today but I was wondering about a strategy. I'll lay it out if anyone else wants to try it in the meantime. Orb order: 1-L1, 2-R2, 3-L3, 4-R1, 5-L2, 6-R3. Guardians are assigned 1-6(i.e. G1), 3 left, 3 right to start. After the initial ad clearing the 3 on the right move to the far right near R3, grab egress and pop the orb. G1 gets gaze, the other two either stay out of sight so they don't get egress or join the guys on the right. Orb pops, in you go. G2 gets in position near R2 to grab gaze, G2 should also start damaging the R2 orb just before grabbing gaze. When G2 gets gaze, G1 finishes the orb, so everyone else can just move positions and keep shooting, then jumps in and clears ads. This would continue through all six orbs. The only thing I was thinking of changing was having the next gaze grabber the ad clearer instead, because they could get to position for the next gaze and clear ads from there.

5 RepliesJust beat the challenge. All you need to do is 1 orb but everyone takes the gaze in each cycle. once the first person take gaze everyone els jumps down and does damage when you get out everyone els then takes the gaze as soon as you jump out the pit. Rinse and repeat

Edit: Method confirmed, must run through first rotation with everyone in the fireteam grabbing gaze, one orb = 1 different person. MAKE ASSIGNED ORBS. 2 RepliesThe week before, people complained that the loot from the raid was crap. Saying, "oh, moldering shard again. I have, like, hundreds of these. And 320 never drops for me. Bungie hates me." Last week people complained that the Warpriest Challenage was too easy and was ungrateful about how easy it was to get 320 artifact. Saying, "Bungie, are you kidding me?! You call this a 'challenge'?! You give 320 to everyone?!" This week people will probably complain that it was too hard or unattainable, and only the top 1% can get it. Saying, "Yo Bungie, why you cater to only the top 1%? Don't force me to get all Bernie Sanders on you." Bungie can't win.

1 ReplyThere is a work around. You can do the one orb strategy and at 10 seconds a player jumps out and grabs gaze at one second. After that everyone jumps out and you rotate gazes between all players until the last player loses the gaze by force. Repeat this process till golgoroth is dead and you completed the challenge. You don't need to destroy any more of the hanging orbs of light.

Found a way to still do single bubble strategy Everyone in the beginning have everyone a signed to a orb them go top left top right them work your way down and after each person grabs it the final person is your main gaze holder and everyone goes In the pit and yeah I have to work out the details

Hmm- so 3 on each side of Golgoroth - 1st gets gaze, which he'll turn around, then the other side #2 will grab it. Number 6 can always be number 6. 5th calls their gaze grab then everyone collectively shoots the orb as 6th/final grabber gets gaze. 6th would be your preferred gaze grabber who could hold their own against the venom attack and call out timer since this would be when everyone jumps down to do damage. Then it can be repeated as before. So the key factor is a complete team trade off of getting gaze each orb attempt? Haven't done it yet but hopefully the way I explained above is how I'm understanding it based on others explanations?

2 RepliesWOULD THIS WORK? free golgoroth, clear ads, 3 go left 3 go right, swap gaze between 2 left and 2 right, on 5th gaze holder drop L1 orb last guardian takes gaze other 5 go in pool dps, all players have now taken gaze, you now continue with 1 orb strat with one gaze holder. Or is it confirmed that once gaze has gone after all six have held gaze that all six HAVE to take gaze again.

Easy way is just drop front left orb 4 people drop down dps golgoroth while 6th person stays up top near right front bubble that person takes gaze at last second everyone jumps out to their own orb and just passes gaze around. Rinse and repeat for 3 or 4 cycles and he is dead. Pretty simple I did it with all randoms in a few tries.

The last person just runs around until it says "Failure to capture gaze". You can do any strategy that is most comfortable for your fireteam, as long as each damage cycle you have 6 different players capture gaze. I have the emblems to prove it.
